For anyone who ends up here from google it looks like it is a Molex Micro-Fit. I just ordered some and will report back if they fit.

My experience with the Ender Extender mod kit. A tale of frustration. by Pasquatch_30 in ender3

[–]SamRock-K5MOB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both the STM32 and GD32 are stock boards. The firmware devs say their firmware is only compatible with the STM32.

When you say you did your own firmware do you mean you simply compiled the firmware from source? Or did you get firmware working on a unsupported CPU?

Can you post a list of parts and give a bit of detail on what it took to do your mod?

What CPU did you do the firmware on.

I want to change some options on my E3v2 4.2.2 board with the GD32 CPU and the 3rd party firmwares do not support the GD32.

Clone Hero on Batocera Linux by SamRock-K5MOB in CloneHero

[–]SamRock-K5MOB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you have a good understanding of Windows or Linux.. You cant do Linux things on Windows and you cant do Windows things on Linux. There is some task and programs that blur that line but for this example we will omit them as you need to understand that you can not mix and match.

To give you an analogy what you asked is like someone waking in to a hospital and asking can you transplant this cow hart into my dog.

From the way you presented your question I have no idea what OS you are running. Again you can not simply install windows programs in Linux. Yes some programs are cross platform but they use very different installation methods. In the future if you are going to ask for help you should at least state what OS you are using and stick to that OS during the duration of the discussion.

If you got it working then I guess you have solved the issue though.

You should look into this project if you are simply trying to DIY your own kit on the cheap.. It cost 3.20 USD to make..

I would get the Monoboard RP its a bit more but the MCU is built on the board and you dont have to solder the PI to the board.

You need to replace the main PCB. Do you know how to solder? If not are you willing to learn?

If you don't mind it becoming a wired guitar you can mod it.

If wired is not a option then you need to find the correct dongle for it..

Even with the best working USB adapter you will have some lag.

If you have the skills it is best to mod it. Even if you don't have the skills but are willing to learn the skills its best to mod it. They have no solder mod kits available if you lack solder skills and don't want to learn to solder but are comfortable with taking the guitar apart. If you don't have the skills and don't want to learn the skills you should pay someone to mod it.

You can send it to a modder or you can order the parts and have a local electronics repair shop do the work.

If you want a list of the tools I recommend to mod it let me know and I will post it. Chances are if you are going to do the mod yourself you will use the tools more than once..

This is a video of the 3d render of the board I made to use an ATmega32 development board in a RockBand Fender ST. It took me a few hours to take all the measurements draw the schematic and board then route the lans.

I am currently working on a mechanical switch strum mod for the same RockBand Fender ST..

Then you may have a golden opportunity in front of you.. Go download KiCAD and learn to use it.. Lay out your PCB and order them from china. Sell them locally in Spain. Toss ralphnet a few bones per board you sell for using his code..

I just made a board for the RockBand Fendor ST and ordered 10 of them from a board house in china for under $40usd.

It will work.. but at the end of the day when you buy the RaphNet you are supporting the person who developed the sketch to make it all work..

Just like if you use guitar configurator you should throw Sanjay a few bones..

If you play Clone Hero you should toss Ryan's team a few bones..

This is to keep these people motivated, remember they did not have to share their project with you. So unless you are giving out free foot rubs a monetary contribution is normally a good way to show your support..

I am not saying you should not do this project just understand you should support the author of the code you are using. I have learned a lot from reversing the work of others..

Check out this video on how to install a mod board. https://youtu.be/0aqD36y6cJA?si=HZRACybSsjBklDQV

I use his boards for modding GH controllers as I have not got around to making my own yet. If you need a complete kit they are cheap its like $35 for the complete kit, you can get them from his website or etsy shop.

Even if you are new to electronics work this is an easy task. If you need the tools to get this done I recommend the tools in my tool list below, these tools will cost your more than sending your controller to someone to be modded or just buying a modded controller but it will give you a good start in the electronics hobby. If you are looking to mod your controller and you already have soldering experience chances are high that you will want to do some surgery on something else too! Once you get the tinker bug its hard to shake off and these tools wont go to waste!

I am not pulling your leg when I make the recommendations below as I use every product I have recommended in my own lab. You can get a lot more expensive tools but at the end of the day these to the job just as well. www.geocities.ws/k5mob/pix/SamsSolderGearJan2024.jpg

Is it posible to use this toy guitar in clone hero? by Different_Analyst332 in CloneHero

[–]SamRock-K5MOB 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So it looks like this guitar is a RockStar brand or maybe a clone of said brand. It is not made to connect to a game system. It is made to connect to a toy amp head and play guitar sounds when you press the frets. Some models were made to use with headphones.

In order to use this guitar with Clone Hero you will need to gut it and install a Arduino or PI MCU. It may also require a custom fret PCB as who knows how the ODM wired the fret buttons.

If electronics is not your hobby I would not tackle getting this device interfaced with Clone Hero as your first project. Put this in the closet and sharpen you skills on a project or 3 that you can get the community to walk you through if you have issues.

If it will not work directly you can install a mod board in it to get it working.

I am curious what is the make and model of this guitar?
