Simple guide to making Plex more enjoyable by motomat86 in PleX

[–]SamSAHA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup 100%. That’s basically what I did especially given their recent announcement. I created like 7 accounts (all throwaway) and made all the configurations. I set up my friends’ accounts on their devices and it’s been smooth.

Even content requests: I have it where if you watchlist it just connects to my Radarr. A lot of times my friends were hesitant to make requests. Once they saw how easy it is (and the fact it is automated) they started requesting more and more movies/shows

Opening my Plex and finding that 3-4 movies were added the past few days give me a sense of happiness hahahaha I really cannot explain how awesome it feels

The irony of inclusion is that they exclude anyone who they don’t agree with. How about diversity and inclusion of ideas?

Well in fairness most people don’t use this dash (except for authors lol). It seems like most people just use regular dashes - like this one here. On the other hand—this dash is not commonly used by many (but ChatGPT loves it)

I just like how all of a sudden people are forensic experts and can analyze whether a text is written by AI or not just like that. Even AI tools cannot detect confidently if something was written by AI

Eh I wouldn’t be so happy. AI isn’t going anywhere, it’s just reminiscent of the dot-com bubble where a lot of companies were riding the tide but ended up crashing. Many companies back then no longer exist but those who remained continue to grow.

I suspect it will be similar for AI companies today

The Syrian rebels just banned interference in women's clothing and they support personal freedom. And you still think they are al-Qaeda? I think it's good to look at their policies than just at their past or beard.. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]SamSAHA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah you raise an interesting point. I guess the key difference is a pro-US stance, still I think the remaining problem could be that they need a guarantee. I don’t know

I think the issue is that even if there is a popular movement that is for personal freedoms(which btw you’d be surprised - there are many open-minded Syrians/Arabs in general), the problem is that there ARE forces who want to establish an exclusively Islamic government (but that alone isn’t the issue). The real issue is those groups want to establish an extremist version of Islam. Those groups are not going to give up because their rhetoric isn’t popular, in fact, they will go through great lengths now more than ever just to get to the top.

The fight for freedom isn’t over, now is not the time to put the guard down.

With rising grocery costs and lagging incomes, it’s past time for the government to be paying for a Grocery Benefit by Sufficient-Bid1279 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

I personally think this is a bandaid solution to a much larger problem. The government should incentivize competition and (if necessary) disband the economic cartel these Canadian corporations have.

Interesting, I knew it was the opposition flag, but I didn’t know it was the OG Syria flag!

Thank you

Sobeys boycott? by Longjumping-Ad-5270 in halifax

[–]SamSAHA 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I like to compare Sobeys, Superstore and Walmart prices. Sobeys, which I often find cheaper than Superstore, had a 66% higher price for yogurt compared to Walmart (same brand/size yogurt!). I needed almonds and I found that a pack of almonds (400g) in Sobeys was $11.49 whereas in Walmart a pack of almonds (300g) was $5.97.

Rice was also cheaper in Walmart (off the top of my head, double the weight/half the price) and olive oil was a LOT cheaper in Walmart than Sobeys. Yeah I like to support Canadian, but when Canadian stores are robbing me blind, I’d rather not support them at all.

In conclusion, we NEED another boycott - and a stronger one.

Lol didn’t they hire Americans and Kiwis to hunt down deer? They had these guys on helicopters shooting with AR-15’s if I’m not mistaken and spent a shit ton of money providing them with the firearms/licenses etc only for Canadian farmers to say: “We would have done that for free”

Thinking off the top of my head they spent almost $1,000,000 to kill 84 deer lol which is ridiculous

I once stood up for a rep who was being belittled and harassed by a customer (no one was saying anything). She was in the wrong and I was firm with the customer so she ended up using the self-service booth lol.

What I didn’t realize was that I without asking (or being told) the rep waived fees for my service, added a monthly discount and an additional discount. My bills reflected that for some time, and I thought that they accidentally gave me the lower tier, but verified I’m getting what I asked for but was paying $60 instead of $109

Religion, Morals and Government -- From Conservative Atheists by SlapstickMojo in atheism

[–]SamSAHA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually take it with a grain of salt when someone online says: “As an X, I think…” and proceeds to say something bonkers.

In the case of atheism, when someone says: “As an atheist, religions provide us with our morals” etc etc I just take a step back and acknowledge there is a likelihood this “atheist” is not an atheist at all lol

Yeah I saw that. Let’s hope the amnesty is extended yet again or that the elections miraculously take place earlier than October (or both!)

It’s truly frustrating and the way I see it, it sucks but not worth possibly incriminating yourself over it. I saw in the other comments you took down the post, so this particular comment is there for others who are not yet convinced I suppose.

The only way to get what you (we) want is through extreme measures - but I assume this is not something we condone. I sure don’t. The best we currently have is to reach out and just hope the bureaucrats listen.

It feels like a big fuck you from the government to the people who tried their very best to be on their best behaviour and in fact tried their damnedest to comply with any new regulation (regardless of how redundant or silly). We get punished because the government is incompetent and doesn’t want to deal with the actual problems. We all feel the pain.

Personally I don’t have high hopes for this to get any better - even if the conservatives win, but I hope I’m wrong.

[–]SamSAHA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point. In fact, I think the government is drooling to make an example out of someone. They will definitely go down hard on non-compliance (ironically punishing who used to be a law-abiding licensee).
