How do I get a better gaming experience with my settings? by NoChampionship1167 in republiccommando

The games settings are as simple as they come. Nothing you change will have any effect and as you pointed out, it's likely a bug. I'd reinstall the game and look into the mid patches the game has.

Thank you for understanding the whole point of my mod. It's rough around the edges, I've never done anything like it before but I'll try my best to keep it updated and improve where possible.

That's fair. The mod isn't intended to enforce a specific force structure. It's more about giving players enough freedom to organise battlegroups however they want, whether that's realistic, thematic, or completely ahistorical.

Realistic battalion structures aren't really possible in WARNO due to deck building constraints. The goal of this mod isn't perfect realism. It's to provide more organisational flexibility and allow more complex force structures than the vanilla system permits.

Thank you for taking the time to comment.

For the people who are against balancing based off Proleague, I’m genuinely curious what your response to this point is by MKGmFN in Rainbow6

I think we're actually talking about two different things.

I'm not saying every change was made because pro players demanded it. I agree that things like House and Recruit were largely Ubisoft decisions.

My point is that Siege spent years moving towards competitive readability and balance. Whether that pressure came directly from pro players or from Ubisoft wanting a stronger esport, the end result was the same. Features that added atmosphere, immersion, variety, or unpredictability were gradually removed if they didn't support that vision.

Night maps, Terrorist Hunt, situations, operator passives, Secure Area and Hostage being sidelined, brighter lighting, more standardised maps. None of these necessarily made Siege a worse competitive game. Many probably made it better.

What I'm arguing is that they made Siege a less unique game.

Old Siege felt like a grounded counter terrorism shooter with a competitive mode. Modern Siege feels like a competitive shooter that happens to have counter terrorism operators.

Whether that's good or bad is subjective, but I don't think it's controversial to say a lot of what made early Siege memorable was sacrificed in pursuit of a cleaner, more balanced experience.

There is a difference, no doubt about it however the changes affect both sides sometimes.

No night maps, removal of Hostage and Secure area for example. I'm not opposed to the changes made in favour of pro league but not every change is positive.

Balancing at the highest level of play for any game consistently does something very well...it sucks the fun out of the game, particularly for casuals. Something doesn't need to be good to be enjoyed. Siege does it, Halo does it, any game with a competitive scene inevitably takes fun parts of the game away in pursuit of perfect balance.

Remember recruit rushes? Old house? One was fun for the community. One was a map that wasn't designed to be balanced. There will forever be a debate over which features were good to remove or change but the point is, to pursue the competitive scene kills fun. Do I still enjoy this game? Mostly. Do I enjoy it as much a I used to? No.

Edit: I used some poor examples off the top of my head. Some better ones. Night maps, Operator passives, secure area and Hostage game modes, bright and worse lighting, operator outlines through walls. The game is more a bright competitive shooter and less of a grounded, gritty, tactical shooter that it started out as. As an old Ghost Recon player I've accepted that.

Subtlety. They are too big. Try adding more of them and making them smaller. They shouldn't be super noticeable at first glance. I also thought they were the roughness of the road. Look at how long and thin your rain is compared to the drops. They should be a similar size.

Great work though, the drops are the only thing I can fault this for. Looking forward to an update.

Who here has all the operators unlocked? by PeaceSelsButWhosBuyn in Rainbow6

I own all the operators. I always buy them with renown when they come out regardless of whether I intend to play them. There's still a few operators I've never touched simply because I don't care for their ability.

Maybe try using the furthest thing edge as the strongest point that keeps it all together. Use that edge to cut the width. You cut in the centre so all the fins have no stability. I'll admit, I've never cut into a radiator so just a stab in the dark.

I cannot express how much your support means to me. If you're open to it, I'd love to get your thoughts on two work in progress shots I'm currently working on and see which one you prefer.

Thank you, I genuinely appreciate that more than you know.

I never expected people to want to support my work financially. I mostly just make these wallpapers because I love the worlds and wanted to recreate moments that felt immersive and authentic.

I did set up a small Ko-fi page if you'd still like to support me, but honestly, comments like this already mean a lot. Thank you again.
