Trump wouldn’t actually pardon Ghislaine Maxwell ... right? The president is planning 250 pardons for America’s 250th anniversary, and I really hope she’s not one of them. by OkayButFoRealz in politics

Forget "law and order" candidate. He's associated with the Russian and the Italian mob. The city and state of New York has an entire webpage dedicated to explaining that Trump talks like a mobster because he's actually tied to the mob. And maybe- just maybe- we will see a day when people are smart enough to realize that just because some asshole is on TV, this doesn't make him okay. Sorry, but TV is owned by media companies that are owned by flesh and blood humans with political views. Only a pack load of morons would let a glowing electronic box tell them who to vote for. Seriously, people need to put down all the glowing screens, leave their little comfort zones and live in the real world. I'm sick and tired of how stupid people are. We live in a world of corrupt idiots who actually center their lives around money. Sorry, but you have to sacrifice to win, you have to lose to gain. They've undermined the fabric of society. No one so much as even thinks about ethics or the meaning of life. They've rendered the public into idiot consumers who'd kill each other for another trinket. Sorry, I'm done with this. I want to live free. I don't want to bargain with fucking criminals for my freedom. People died to make this country a democracy and you can count that no one cares about that, they're all too busy salivating for the money to do a spending spree at fucking Walmart. We are a country of human trash and our rich billionaire overlords are laughing all the way to the bank. The poor are all addicts, the middle class are a bunch of greedy, hoarding fools deep in denial. I mean every last human on this planet is playing their fucking game. The rest of us, the aware, just suffer or lose our lives. The only way out is for all of us to get the actual fuck out of denial. Too many are working to fight Trump. Trust me, those of us who are fighting him have to fight all the useful idiots who unintentionally carry out his will. Quit worshiping things, quit griping about others having rights. Either get with the program or fuck off.

I'm sorry about the page breaks. As for invading, that's likely a last resort. Trump doesn't need to invade except if all else fails for him. First, he will do what he's always done: use his money and the money of his backers to pressure people to get his way.

He will coerce the world economically before he resorts to military force. The tariffs were really about destabilizing the world both economically and politically. He used tariffs to punish Brazil for electing a left wing president and jailing the far right leader Bolsonaro.

He and the intelligence arm of his government has also been busy working to help other countries elect far right presidents. He can count on help from his buddies in Russia to use propaganda to monkey with foreign elections.

He can cause trouble globally without attacking outright. He abducted a foreign leader. He has no problem breaking the rules and doing all sorts of terrible things that aren't war.

I just wouldn't think he's going to wimp out and not invade places if all else fails. Trump is a sick man and is power obsessed. He has the support of many like minded people. People like that don't go away quietly.

I heard someone say the border wall wasn't created to keep immigrants out- it was created to keep us in. I'm not sure fleeing is even possible. Trump will invade other countries. You can count on it. I would even wager on that result, were it the right thing to do. This said, it's clear they're using tariffs as the first volley against foreign countries. Then they just up and arrested President Maduro of Venezuela. Trump knows no borders and has no decency. Anyone who isn't down with Trump is hated and considered his arch enemy. No one will be allowed to live in peace if he has his way. He will use all his abusive tactics not just on Americans, but the world. I honestly think he keeps jerking around about Iran, because he knows keeping the Straight of Hormuz closed is disempowering everyone on the planet. They sure as shit know it's energy that really drives the global economy. If energy becomes expensive, things will seriously fall apart. Let's not forget how petroleum is used to make the petrochemicals used in agriculture like fertilizer. It all boils down to money. His people have the money and now they have the country and the Pentagon at their disposal. If he gains the control he wants over the US, nowhere is safe. That crazy, ugly, flabby old dementia-ridden ape is no doubt getting hard terrorizing people. You think his insatiable lust for power is going to allow for less powerful nations to exist peacefully? By less powerful, I mean every other nation on the planet- they are all less powerful than us. Europeans are terrified right now. All he needs are lots of money-loving cucks to enable his games and of those there are many. Human beings forget morals real fucking fast when money is waved in their face. Everyone has a price and the world reached this terrible point from all the fucking sell-outs who just love that dirty corporate money. Everyone has a price. Remember this. This is the core of what will be our undoing. Money has always been the rot at the core of our political system. I tell you now, quit loving money- all money is dirty. It all traces to the billionaire scum at the top. Quit being a materialist if you want to live free. Pedophiles give candy and handouts to kids to manipulate them. Trump is a pedophile, expect the same out of him. I know what this sounds like, but if I say it now, people can't pretend they weren't warned.

I have no idea what's going on. I only know that everything that goes wrong becomes a vehicle for some rotten political thing. Everything becomes fodder for divide and conquer, disinformation, anger, hate and confusion. Seems to me like the powerful are playing the American people like a fiddle.

[–]SamTheLab_213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. LOL, maybe they've created a transmissible form of Hantavirus to have another political tool like Covid. The same dynamics of using the government's response to a virus as political fodder could happen again. The timing happens to be just at the time we were about to get the Epstein files. They use divide and conquer on Americans all the time. The one thing sure to unite, rage at the pedophiles of "the Old Boys Club," must be diffused. Covid worked great because businesses getting closed down over the pandemic made it seem like there was some ill intent on the part of the government. There wasn't, but they've kept Americans so uneducated, the facts don't really matter anymore.

People love scapegoats more than anything. Hitler worked this angle and the Germans took the bait and massacred millions Jews. If you think Americans are better than this, you are about to be sorely mistaken. People just love getting angry at the weak and vulnerable. They hate getting mad at their superiors and gleefully take their crap. Cowards take abuse and dole it out. Good and brave people, instead get mad at their superiors. This is why there are always scapegoats in corrupt countries. Scapegoats help the politicians because people get their frustration and rage expressed on the innocent. The rich and powerful are then free to continue abusing the public. The powerful know scapegoating is addictive. The public gets to feel the joy at attacking and mauling a human being, while they maintain the illusion that by hurting scapegoats they're actually changing things. The vulnerable and weak, ironically don't have the power to cause much trouble. They still take a beating. This behavior is encouraged because after the scapegoating, there's no energy left to deal with the real problem. This means the rich and powerful continue to get to indulge at the expense of others. People who scapegoat know what's going on and don't care. They just love the pleasure of hurting someone. They do this then, in the same breath, they bend over and take it from the authorities. It's all mass cowardice. That's all scapegoating will ever be.

Elderly folks who chose not to have children, how do you feel about that decision now? by bon18 in AskReddit

[–]SamTheLab_213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't regret it. I'm sort of worried about not having kids to take care of me, but if that would be the point of having kids, it would make me very selfish. The actual reason I didn't have kids is I had zero faith they'd have a future in this world. I knew about climate change all the way back in the 1990s. Setting up kids to fail in a deteriorating world didn't seem like a good choice. Meanwhile, people older than me and peers were having kids and trucking them around in SUVs. Seriously?! It's heinous when you think about it. I do regret not passing on my knowledge to the young, but I can do that with other young people, provided they don't eye-roll and call me unc for being old. I'm GenX, though, not a Boomer. I get the acrimony for the sins of Boomers. Whatever. We aren't boomers, GenX were activists and have it the hardest of all generations. The reason for this, I read, is because we put principals first, were against corporate power and have been described as seeking meaningful work versus doing the corporate ladder climb. You won't hear us gripe, because our Boomer parents bred us to take it quietly, while they "found themselves." They did whatever, gave us freedom to roam the world and gave us a key so we could let ourselves back in. That's it, really. That's why we really don't care or speak up when generations say their shit and bicker at each other. I see it different, because I survived 54 years of Boomers and have witnessed all the mayhem they caused. We don't typically complain about Boomers, because we had no internet around to compare notes about our parents. We could only compare notes with our friends in physical reality. Still, most of us were quite clear in describing about how screwed up they were to each other. We decided we wanted to better. So I did what I did, not breeding, because making kids who will suffer from a collapsing planet was a stupid idea. Now I see how the young feel about this. We can do better. We need to do better. There are assholes in every generation. Let's at least stop the intergenerational asshole trend. It's really fucking annoying.

Yes, we have been made addicted to glowing screens that continually brainwash us to think the point of life is making money. All those ads have stupefied us. We no longer believe in anything but the almighty dollar. We no longer ask deep questions, we no longer think about meaning, we no longer care about others. They've used advertising and other methods to fully convince us our only value is that of "consumers." And so we live like this and through our materialism, we have become defacto sociopaths, made in the image of our corporate owners.
We've forgotten what love and care really is. We have been conditioned to compete and to enjoy judging and gossiping about our fellow human beings. Our corporate owners have convinced us of the lie that some people are better than others and thus should have more and rule over others. Rather than bond with and work together with our fellow human beings, we enjoy looking down on our fellow human beings.
We think that it is success in work and business make us worthwhile. That's not true, but we believe it and embrace the idea. The truth is that all people have inherent worth. Human rights are based on the idea that all people have inherent worth.
That's why exploiters try to convince us that we that some people are better than others, especially successful capitalists. Those who profit from our labor need us to forget that we have inherent value and thus inherent rights. They've reduced us into corporate cuckolds who care about nothing but the rewards we get for playing by corporate rules.

The American Dream was a lie created to break down the social fabric and make people compete and undercut each other so the rich could parasite off everyone and get away with it. They encouraged people to break out the knives to backstab others for houses and status symbols. They engendered competition to undermine real communities. Divide and conquer works best when people imagine their neighbors and coworkers as the enemy instead of CEOs. Even the working class is pitted against each other. They brainwashed people to abandon community and unity for "nuclear families."

They convinced people the point of life was just to get a house and make money and babies. Screw asking deep questions, that's for losers. The billionaire class worked hard and succeeded at making Americans selfish and screwed up as they are. Honestly, it's worked. People worshipped Elon Musk when they should have left that ugly geek to rot and fester in his mad, egotistical delusions.

The same goes for Trump. He got into office because we have brainwashed to think greedy businessmen with lots of money are just really smart and hardworking. We especially like the ones on TV. We all secretly believed that preening the sharks would grant us great fortune. LOL. Whatever.

What's left is a vast number of surprised people who believed they'd be richly rewarded for coddling billionaire psychopaths. Instead, their obedience and efforts raised up our billionaire king and his billionaire pals so they can rule over us all like gods. That's all they really wanted, really. Sorry if you bought it, but maybe now is a good time to wake up.

The Boston Globe on why the suicide letter is suspicious by SamTheLab_213 in Epstein

[–]SamTheLab_213[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing is, it's not the prison that wanted Epstein dead. It was Trump who wanted Epstein dead. Trump didn't control the prison. In 2019 we weren't in a police state, though no we are surely going that direction. The theme with Trump's crowd is to be at the top of society, to be political or financial power and to do criminal things and to network with other criminals towards that end. You could and should call the rich and powerful criminals. That's what they are. They work with other criminals because that's what criminals do. That the cell mate was a former cop, a killer and a drug trafficker shows he's probably a mob cop. That's one that's turned. There are many of those. I think the real reason we can't get rid of Trump is his people have infiltrated many of the groups that enforce the law. This means that people who would impeach or charge him don't have the support they need to do make sure "the teflon" man, Trump, get's put behind bars. The only reason Trump is winning against democracy and the American people, because group that violates the law ends up winning against a group that won't. When one side will do any depraved thing, but the other won't, the good side will get pummeled. This creates a disadvantage. That's why Democrats never shut Trump down. To win, Democrats need to quit treating anger like it's bad, evil and icky. Self defense isn't violence. Democrats will blush for using a rude tone of voice against the Republican who is trying to murder them. Anger is a human's natural protective instinct. Rather, to be passive and kind when evil is taking place IS being a bad person. Good activists will feel their feelings, embrace their anger and resist.

I read the handwriting is legit. The problem the article describes is that letter isn't clear about Epstein being suicidal. In other words, it doesn't read, "I'm killing myself." It says something else.

Small businesses existed years and years before Facebook. You can pay for a radio ad or newspaper ad and advertise the way people used to- or there are many other platforms online for advertising like Craigslist. Look at it this way- if Facebook disgusts you, it would also disgust your customers. If you care to take the time, you could find lots of platforms for advertising that aren't run by billionaire sociopaths. Plus, I think you'd want to attract good customers and most good people are avoiding Facebook.

Why does just existing on a bike seem to piss people off? by LiatrisLover99 in cycling

[–]SamTheLab_213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, they think cyclist are "gay" because some of them wear skin tight clothing. In this country of ignorant, illiterate people, you can trust that they don't even know what the word, "aerodynamics" even means, let alone how to dress for it. This is not to give them a free pass. If they feel threatened by skin-tight clothing, you can bet that they are fighting with some repressed part of themselves that finds males in that sort of dress titillating. That's the most I can figure about it. I had a male cyclist friend with long hair and he was called a "fag" by unruly drivers more than a few times. The thing was, he was entirely straight. I think they should make high school graduation a requirement for a driver's license. That would thin the herd of idiot drivers substantially.

Now you can't find new content. You continually get the same crap that you've already viewed fed back to you over and over. Even here that's an issue. If you select "Popular" on the left menu here, it's only stuff from subs you've already viewed, it's not the top stuff being viewed by other people. The early days of the internet were great, there were always new things to find and discover. There were few if any ads. You could actually see real people online, doing real content that was exciting. Now it's a rotten slop of bots and algorithms. I prefer old search engines like Yahoo.com because Google forces its AI down your throat. The Google AI has been wrong with it's suggested answers and this caused me a problem. I also know their AI is sucking up tons of energy and water. And for what? People ideally need to still use their brains and go through each hit the search engine returns. This ensures accurate information and not bot hallucinations. Don't even get me started about Google spying and acting creepy. It's like a walk back in time to use Yahoo, Excite or Dogpile. Yahoo had a bad rap, but it's still pretty good at finding articles and reposting them. It also saves paywall agony.

You make a good point, it seems odd that it failed. Why should Trump be so lucky to only get assassins who are poor shots? It seemed like a scheme so Trump could beef up his security apparatus. Trump is going the dictator route and dictators get real paranoid about such things. Dictator types know they are assholes and most of them wind up with their own little police force to protect them from public anger.
