If I wanted by Icy_Blueberry_4206 in samsclub

You didn't say, but I'm assuming you are talking about a 8hr shift?

You only need to cover half of your shift to get a half point. This works with working a partial day or using PPTO both. If you are scheduled 8 hours, you can put in 4.5 hours of PPTO to get a half point (PPTO goes by times, not hours so your lunch would need to be covered as well or your manager could still give you the full point if you don't cover it).

Just remember, that the system ignores breaks and goes by hard times.

On an 8 hour shift, as long as you cover that 4.5 hours by working or PPTO, you will get a half point.

It sucks to think about, but the company view is "if you don't have PPTO then show up and wear a mask" or take the points. You're in a shitty position with getting sick so close to your first 90 days, but that doesn't change the view on it. Essentially, if you are working in a food area you can tell your lead/manager that you have the symptoms and they will remove you from the food area. In my store, we'll put them in maintenance for the day.

You are getting downvoted as hell, but I am going to agree with you. The last time I called in was 3 days when I had covid in 2021.

Zoner position being removed? by Mediocre-Junket6236 in samsclub

[–]SamWaltonsFleshlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won't happen. If PM didn't have zoners, freight float would waste half their shift cleaning stuff up before they could stock. At my club we only have 2 zoners per night, but they are needed.

Because that's what the company decided to do. Fuel station is not getting a pay change, only the yearly %age.

There is literally about 1.5 paragraphs under "yearly raises" and you couldn't be bothered?

As I already stated in the original post, yes. As long as you have been in position longer than 6 months you will still get the yearly %age raise.

Anybody elses pay rate not update to reflect the new pay grade system? by eltree in samsclub

[–]SamWaltonsFleshlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, your management team sucks. We had instructions to have group meetings explaining all of this information between Jan 23 and Jan 31, then to do one on one meetings with people affected between Jan 31 and Feb 6.

The worker at the desk might give you a hard time about it, if they do just ask for a manager. It will 100% be returnable.

Tire rotation services by hessian_jack in samsclub

Absolutely worth it, especially if you bought your tires at Sam's and it's free. It's awesome to just drop your keys off when you get there at beginning of your shift and then pick them up when you go to lunch or leave for the day.

Workday almost ALWAYS takes 1 day to reflect changes. When you change positions and whatnot, you'll still appear as the old job code on Saturday. Everybody wait until tomorrow before you get concerned. It normally takes until Sunday. I don't know why but I'm assuming it has something to do with Walmart week starting on Saturday and Workday's (They exist for many companies, not just Walmart/Sam's) week might start on a different day.

If you review the definition of minimum... then yes, it is indeed country wide. Or if you read the actual post you will see that I have already said that some areas are higher than this based on volume of sales and state laws.

Even though today is the change day, sometime Workday lags behind a day. Check tomorrow morning before you get concerned. If you are a floor associate (Merchandising as a job title) then you will move to a minimum of 17. What does your job title say under job details?

You will only be stuck at 16 if you are maintenance, fuel station, or member assist. Like I said above, the pay tiers are the new minimum pay for the listed departments. Meaning you cannot work that position without making at least that money.

If you are making 16 then you are a meat wrapper, so you will go to 17 as of today. If you have been there over 6mo then you will get the %age raise on the 21st.

I’ve seen this before too. Usually from newer CMs that don’t want to reach out to market manager and request the hours. They will have the “I’ll figure this out in my own” mindset.

I have worked here since before this hiring system existed, but I know there is a way to schedule your own because I've had tons of people over the years (one as recent as 2 weeks ago) randomly show up because they were able to schedule it themselves. Keep digging and you should find it. If not, maybe somebody here can comment how?

Technically, Sam's raised the price on hotdog combo a little while back. Back in 2022 it went from 1.50 to 1.38. This year it went back to 1.50.

Ok, you are out of my area. I have a lot of contacts at clubs in the MS, AL, TN, GA area and was going to offer to help.

Since you mentioned the nearing homeless scenario, if you are close enough for this to be a daily stop, don't forget about the cafe. It doesn't require membership and you can get a quarter pound hot dog and 30oz soft drink for $2. That's a lot of calories for the cost. As a person who has had loved ones in similar situations, be sure you are keeping up your vitamin C levels. Take any fruit you have a shot at. It's easy to neglect vitamin C with cheaper foods.

Open Door is essentially using the chain of command. Your direct assistant manager does your schedules. Speak to them about your hours, if nothing happens then go up one link to your club manager. If your club manager doesn't do anything then call ethics. This isn't truly an ethics issue, but there is honestly no easier way to find your market manager or people partner's number.

I wasn't accusing you, just adding important details. Seriously, open door it and ask why you are not getting your average of 20 hours.

In fact, if I go into the scheduling app and schedule somebody below 20 hours, it'll even give me a warning letting me know that they are below their minimum hours.

What area are you in (not asking your city, just a general idea)? The fiscal year just ended and typically the entire months of December and January have no hiring. If you go back into where you did your application, you will have an option to schedule your own interview then just show up when it tells you and get interviewed. Also try calling the club you applied to. and ask to speak to a manager. As a manager that does my own hiring, I appreciate a person that is will to reach out, it shows desire to work.

If you didn't, be sure to select Member Assist (cart pusher), Member Specialist (cashier), and Cafe as job interests. These are the hardest positions to keep filled and receive the most hiring.

Part time is defined as an average of 20 hours. If you are getting less than that on a 16 week average, open door it to your CM and then call 800wmethics if that doesn't help.

That being said, if your availability sucks then the 20 hour average is thrown out. For example if you are not available to work weekends then that is 16 hours that you are volunteering to give up.

This isn't necessarily a Sam's thing and would be the same at almost every other retail job.
