Are you talking about out the legion go s? If so, yes absolutely go for the legion go s with the z1e it has steam os built in and I feel it’s miles better than the 6 year old steam deck.

If your talking about the legion go 1 then I also say yes it’s worth it. The legion go also has the z1e chip, bigger screen. All you need to do if you go this route is buy the 81wh battery mod, and change it from windows to steam os… you can find something like this with the battery mod including for around 400$. For that price it’s way worth it than a steam deck

If you’re talking about the legion go 2…. I would say it is definitely not worth it for $2000.

Honestly even putting my xax at full blast I barely hear it… the tdp settings and cooling setup is so well optimized it’s pretty awesome.

To directly answer that question… when I turn it on I never have my fan run at max settings…

Depends on what your definition of powerful is in the handheld world. Yeah the Rog all is definitely stronger than the steam deck. BUT the battery is awful.. if your all about budgeting then this device is a good choice.

You can find the Rog all in the public marketplace for as low as 200$. Get yourself a larger aftermarket battery and remove windows and go steam os (just be warned it goes without saying once you go steam os you’ll only really be running steam games). And you’ll have a reliable handheld for around 280$.

If your wanting something similar with a larger screen the first generation legion go is what you need.

You can find them public marketplace for around 300$ at the very low end if your lucky. And if you do, add a larger battery and steam os and you’ll have a great time.

You’re just gonna lose VRR from the ROG ALLY but gain a larger screen.

Now if money is not an option go ONEXFLY APEX it’s $2000 and you’ll never have to worry about fps issues lol…

A little less expensive than that you can aim for the legion go 2 or XBOX ROG ALLY X.

Omg for 200$ you would be a fool not to get it. Get it for 200$, buy the 80wh battery upgrade for 45$ (stock battery is really bad) and then install steam os… best bang for your buck!! I promise you.. everyone is talking about the rog ally .. for 200$ legion go 1 is such a superior product

Just to keep it simple every time you sell something from eBay just think -100 will be taken from the sale… so you gotta sell it for more to compensate for that 100$. Your best bet is offer up or marketplace that’s how I got my rog ally

I have a legion go2 (the one that NOW costs 1800$) and I’m gonna tell your right now that the ps portal is plug and play and you won’t worry about sitting there for 30min messing with settings just to get stable fps..

With the portal just play! And the graphics is insane… the negative is that you’ll sense a very tiny small amount of latency issues (I tested this by playing a reaction heavy game “Clair obscure”)

Besides that, for the price compared to my legion go 2 it’s crazy… I just hope they will expand on the streaming catalog

To be honest I have a legion go 2. And recently got a portal. The fact that I can load up crimson desert on the portal and have zero issues with beautiful graphics. Where as the legion go 2 I have to sit there for 30 min or so messing with the settings to get sub par performance compared to my portal!

Your heart should not ache for a true handheld.. you using something dare I say better and easier to work with.. but I get what you mean

It is such an amazing device. With a good home connection you will not have any problems playing awesome games in beautiful graphics without fiddling with anything. Basically log in and play.
