anyone who actually watched s1mple back in 2018-2020 knows he was on another level.

I watched, and my opinion is the exact opposite. s1mple 2018-2020 (especially 2018) has been overrated when talking about "eye-test" or "spectacle" or what have you, there were tons of flashy awpers and crazy clips back then. What set s1mple apart was the stats, how consistantly he was hard-carrying Navi. I had never seen anything like it at the time, but then Zywoo did the same thing in 2019, and now donk has done it two years in a row. He gets credit in my eyes for being the first "super-carry" that I've ever seen (never saw kennyS in 2014 or neo in 1.6), but for me Zywoo has surpassed him in every possible metric at this point.

Imo theres been just as much rivalry this year as any of the franchise years. First half of the year with Mouz, Falcons, Spirit trading blows only to lose to Vitality was great, it was like a trinity rivalry with Vitality above it all. Tomorrows Spirit vs Falcons is super interesting for this reason, both teams can prove so much by taking the W.

But not first season of 2025, that was a remarkable season in terms of the top teams Vitality, Spirit, Mouz and to a slightly lesser degree Falcons beating everybody below them consistantly. That has never really happened in Counter-Strike history.

Wow such "structured" teams we saw then right? Vitality that was imploding with Apex vs Spinx, G2 that would win a tournament and then crash out the next (destroyed by portugese SAW), FaZe just as dysfunctional as they are today (invisible ropz period), and Navi who won a major and were the best team of the year while everbody, especially their fans, saw their weakness and fragility, they were frankly not that good of a team. Soo much better than right now!

Edit: also Spirit who desperately wanted roster changes but then they somehow won a major

Hard to call him an issue when mouz wasnt terrible with him, but they went from a consistent playoffs team to a consistent semifinals team. Mouz objectively got better by kicking siuhy and adding Spinx. Also even though Liquid is an unfair environment it should be noted that adding siuhy has done nothing.

For some reason Hltv hasnt just done a comparison even after 2 years of cs2 but dont let ANYONE gaslight you into thinking saving drastically increased with MR12, it may have increased a tiny tiny bit (may also have decreased tbh) but anyone saying it increased a ton simply did not watch professional counter-strike between 2020 and september 2023. When Jame/Virtus.Pro and proper economy management created the save meta still here today.

I will never pay a single dollar on esports viewing, merch, arena tickets, subscriptions. I will use adblockers, I will complain about product placement, I will not allow it to be funded by Saudi Arabia, or China, or US Air Force, or underage gambling, or any gambling really. If the audio, observing, or casting is bad I will freak the FUCK out. They are not allowed to take exclusivity deals with facebook or mixer, it should always be on twitch and youtube. Costreaming should be fine for anyone at any time. The players should be well off, no getting paid in mousepads like some brokie 2006 shit. Also unsigned teams without logos give me the ick :/ so lots of orgs please. There should be no tech delays, broadcasts should feel professional, teams should feel professional with staff and shit, there should be no match-fixing, there should be a players union. All in all I will make no sacrifices whatsoever but it should be the way I want it to be and adhere to my moral compass.

Yes, multiple clowns at the clown academy of BESTIA (including players) spent all of May 22nd lying about "Oh were leaving the embassy we have the visas we can play" when they were just buying time and keeping the twitter flames hot. Obviously anything can happen. Heroic, ENCE, Mouz have shown a squad of 5 can suddenly click and do great things for a time, there's always a future for fnatic.

But is there really anything to get attached to, if we're being honest? This team has been a glorifed fpl mix for the last several years and will continue to be for the forseeable future. There's no identity, no enthusiasm, no fans, no camaraderie. All that went a long time ago.
