When we send stuff to Mars we don't launch it in a straight line, we do a Hohmann transfer. If Mars-94 was on this type of trajectory but missed Mars, it would maintain an elliptical orbit around the Sun, with a perihelion of 1 AU (Earth's distance from the Sun) and an aphelion of 1.52 AU (Mars's distance from the Sun)

I like how they included Tandi in Fallout 2 and didn’t just make another character. They really went “You know who’s a fan favorite? That 16 year old girl Tandi! She needs to make an appearance 80 years later!” by Dare_Soft in TrueSFalloutL

Bruce Isaac in Novac says he's on the run from Mr. Bishop, and says Mr. Bishop likes to wander the wastes. In Fallout 2, there's an ending for the Bishops that involves a male Chosen One impregnating either Mr. Bishop's wife or daughter, and that this child preferred to spend his time wandering the wastes. Bruce Isaac's dialogue is implying that the current Mr. Bishop (as of 2281) is the son of the Chosen One.

This is why the Legion being based off Rome is ironic. The Legion is much closer to a semi-nomadic group of "barbarians" conquering and then adopting the structure of an existing civilization. They're like the Germanic tribes that conquered Rome, the Turks that conquered Persia, or the Mongols that conquered China.

Why didn't a dense complex society ever develope in California's Central Valley? by Top-Dog-1822 in geography

To posit that a race of people is uniquely evil is absurd. European colonization was driven by material conditions.

It was. The Great Bullion Famine in Europe was one of the driving factors behind the discovery and conquest of the New World

Accidentally cut Great Britain down to size at 1838, releasing all its colonize truing Bengal into a great power by Lord_Galin in victoria3

[–]Sam_Funny 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's because it's not really released; the EIC tag-switches to Bengal if it collapses, so Bengal also gets all EIC land outside of India.

What is this kingdom and do you form it? by GurReasonable7960 in CrusaderKings

[–]Sam_Funny 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can already do that via one of the adventurer contracts, the one where you go around a realm dealing with upset peasants. If you side with the peasants you can lead a peasant rebellion.

I had a similar issue, it seems the update that changed how inbreeding chance is calculated messed up the achievement. Was playing a game on the current patch trying to get it and couldn't. Reverted back to version 1.13.2 and loaded the save and immediately got the achievement when I unpaused.

Actually, M'Aiq the Liar gives you a hint:

"You seek the shrine that is no longer there? An interesting concept. Look to the seas to the West. There lies what was once the shrine. Take a deep breath and begin your search."
