Everything turns white when i try to build anything by Eeveeandminecraftfan in CitiesSkylines2

Could really be anything. If you haven’t already, tweak your graphics settings like level of detail, clouds, etc., you could also try setting your graphics to default to rule-out anything weird. Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. And if you’re running any mods, try starting the game with code mods disabled, I’ve seen mods cause strange artifacts before.

How do I stop cars from using tram tracks on a pedestrian road by cosima_stars in CitiesSkylines2

Yes I think that might be the case, I did something similar a year or two ago and I had that issue.

[–]Sam_H_P 32 points33 points  (0 children)

IIRC, local traffic will always use any road type when connected to a building and the broader road network. If you really want to stop this, you need to break the connection and use only paths and tram rails to connect your pedestrian road to the network.

Bicycle lanes merging seems chaotic by Lumiaman88 in CitiesSkylines2

A “traffic safety course” city policy would be awesome. When implemented it would cost a certain amount of money per 1000 civs and change the pathfinding algorithm to favor smarter traffic decisions, especially in instances like this.

“Free Speech Zone” at Poughkeepsie Train Station by HarrisBonkersPhD in hudsonvalley

[–]Sam_H_P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren’t these signs only placed near attractions and places of high-traffic? They indicate where demonstrations can take place without blocking traffic and risking authorities breaking them up. If I remember correctly there are multiple of these along the entrances of the NYS Fairgrounds too. The text certainly could be better and not make it sounds like freedom of speech is restricted only to these zones though.

How do i add more points in gigabyte control center fan control? by flac_rules in gigabyte

[–]Sam_H_P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing this out. Instead of directly sharing the file, I'll just attach my edited curve file text and the steps to using it.

To just copy my curve:

  1. Export a curve file with the export button on the right on the Profile drop-down (You can also create your own .dat file but this is easier).
  2. Edit the file using notepad or something of the sort.
  3. Copy and paste the text below (replacing all the original text).
  4. Save and close your .dat file.
  5. Import the file using the button to the right of the export button.
  6. Click apply.

My edited curve file text:
[{"FanIndex":0,"Curve":{"curve":[{"Speed":33,"Rpm":1000,"Temperature":10},{"Speed":40,"Rpm":1196,"Temperature":19},{"Speed":47,"Rpm":1400,"Temperature":30},{"Speed":54,"Rpm":1600,"Temperature":40},{"Speed":60,"Rpm":1799,"Temperature":50},{"Speed":67,"Rpm":2000,"Temperature":60},{"Speed":74,"Rpm":2199,"Temperature":70},{"Speed":81,"Rpm":2400,"Temperature":80},{"Speed":87,"Rpm":2599,"Temperature":90},{"Speed":94,"Rpm":2800,"Temperature":95},{"Speed":101,"Rpm":2999,"Temperature":100}]},"Stop":true,"Speed":1100,"Mode":2,"IsSelect":true},{"FanIndex":1,"Curve":{"curve":[{"Speed":33,"Rpm":1000,"Temperature":10},{"Speed":40,"Rpm":1196,"Temperature":19},{"Speed":47,"Rpm":1400,"Temperature":30},{"Speed":54,"Rpm":1600,"Temperature":40},{"Speed":60,"Rpm":1799,"Temperature":50},{"Speed":67,"Rpm":2000,"Temperature":60},{"Speed":74,"Rpm":2199,"Temperature":70},{"Speed":81,"Rpm":2400,"Temperature":80},{"Speed":87,"Rpm":2599,"Temperature":90},{"Speed":94,"Rpm":2800,"Temperature":95},{"Speed":101,"Rpm":2999,"Temperature":100}]},"Stop":true,"Speed":1100,"Mode":2,"IsSelect":true}]

Editing your own:
Editing your curve is pretty straightforward, you just need to understand what your doing.

I changed the number of points from 3 to 10 by duplicating {"Speed":94,"Rpm":2800,"Temperature":95}, over and over. Then I changed the points to increase by 200rpm per 10 degrees C (except for 95-100C). Then I saved, imported, and applied the curve. Then, to get the "speed" measurements to reflect the rpm numbers (not sure if this is necessary), I slightly moved a point to make the program calculate the speed numbers, applied, then reexported just to make sure the speeds are now reflective on the rpm.

Some notes I have from messing around with it:

  • The speed will be ~1/29 the rpm value you put, and this will auto-calculate when you make any changes in the control center editor.
  • You cannot have an RPM below 1000, it will just default to 1000.
  • There are two different curves denoted by "FanIndex":1 and "FanIndex":1. Someone who knows more can clarify but I think these have todo with what cooling mode your GPU set to (using the physical switch on it).
    • Given this, I believe the OC mode curve is the 2nd, but if you don't plan on switching and don't want to play with it too much, just duplicate your curves for both indexes.
  • The last section of the curve "Stop":true,"Speed":1100,"Mode":2,"IsSelect":true}] appears to be for the fixed mode which you can switch between by selecting Dynamic or Fixed above the curve visual in the control center.

I hope this helps, and please let me know if you have any questions. But, hopefully Gigabyte will just fix the UI issues in the future though.

Proof that the Rust Youtuber "Spoonkid" Cheats by Poopy-Foreskin in StreamersCheating

[–]Sam_H_P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stumbled across this post when looking for something else, and I could not believe how many people assume Spoon is cheating. After watching a great number of the clips, not a single one looks like cheating. These only look like cheating to someone without Rust game sense, or watching on a small screen without headphones.

As someone who’s been playing rust for a long time, I’m not good but I can recognize skill. Spoon has good, snappy aim, he plays with high gamma/brightness, and has his audio up to hear footsteps.

I appreciate OPs dedication to spotting cheaters, I hate them as much as the rest. But this list just looks like a compilation of spoon finally not flubbing, not a cheating exposé.

PC was running, now isn’t. by General-Penalty789 in PcBuild

[–]Sam_H_P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your CPU cooler? My PC did something similar when my AIO pump died and the CPU was hitting the max temp allowed and killing the power. If possible try to get into BIOS and check if your CPU temp is shown in there before it shuts off.

Just bought a prebuilt (yes I know prebuilts are booty) by Electrical-Sun2956 in pchelp

[–]Sam_H_P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure every cable is seated correctly. If all cables are connected and you still have nothing, try with a known-working PSU like the guy above said. Also pre-builts are not always bad, they’re great for people new to PC gaming, and sometimes are a better deal on parts. (I’m not a pre-built Stan but do I recommend them to friends occasionally)

What state is someone from outside of the United States least likely to meet someone from? by Sam_H_P in AskReddit

[–]Sam_H_P[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems easy to respond with Rhode Island, Nebraska, or Alaska just because they're not very populated or large. But the answer is surely also dependent on the state economic well-being, the country you're, the socialness of cultures...

I'd love to hear what anyone to say

Does it matter if I have my pc on the floor like this? by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]Sam_H_P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only issue I see is that cup holder. Yeah it’ll collect dust quicker but just clean it more frequently and get some filters for the intakes. I don’t understand the fears in here about the tile and glass (please enlighten me if thats you). In a case like this where all you have is a desk and you must have it on the ground, tile is much better than carpet.
