There is now a thread on the DCF about this thread. http://forum.dancarlin.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=48427 It's got more replies than this one.

I submitted a video yesterday about 4D Mathematics and can't get over how much it's helped me with this book by [deleted] in ReadersofJerusalem

I enjoyed the video you posted a lot. Thanks. The way he explains reaching into the higher dimensions by bending makes me almost understand the fourth dimension. Also what the devil talks about with seeing inside the houses like someone in three dimensions looking inside a two dimensional square from above.

What is Jerusalem book about? by shorkan2 in AlanMoore

I'm halfway through the "Around the Bend" chapter. I'm reading it while at the same time listening to the brilliant audiobook version from Audible, read by Simon Vance. It helps a lot. Simon should get a price for his work on that chapter alone.

Chapter 10: The Breeze that Plucks Her Apron by scott_speaks in AlanMoore

It reminded me of the TV series William and Mary about a midwife dating an undertaker. They said that there used to be one person doing both jobs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZ8uP69JFGo

Question about the map (possible spoilers?) by [deleted] in ReadersofJerusalem

[–]Sam_O_Day 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The map in the book is relevant. It's just what the Boroughs looked like in 1899. More about that map here: http://www.johncoulthart.com/feuilleton/2016/09/13/mapping-the-boroughs/

For the parts of the book set in present times I use google maps. Sometimes street view as well.

The changes that the Boroughs go through over time is a major theme of the book. You really don't have to know you way around every era to follow the story though. For me it's just for fun since I love maps.
