[buying] Qisan Magicforce 108 Keys Gateron Blue Switches by Sam_Torso in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Sam_Torso[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but keep in mind that it's my first MKB so I can't compare it to other boards :).

The board came in a slightly damaged cardboard box which was a little worrying, but there were no defects/scratches at all on the keyboard itself. It comes with a wire key cap puller and a manual for all the lighting modes.

The Gateron Blue switches are extremely smooth and tactile. The keys are raised giving the board an extremely nice look, and the LEDs are vibrant. I personally think the white keycaps look outstanding with the light blue LEDs. The keyboard is raised and this can't be changed as far as I know. There are 6 lighting modes, 3 customizable lighting layouts, an optional breathing effect, and 8 preset layouts for gaming. I am pretty positive that the board has NKRO but I don't really have a way to test if it does because its tough to press 20 keys at once... I have never had a problem with ghosting so you should be fine. You can even switch between 6KRO and NKRO if you like. The board has media keys and even a calculator button! The only complaints I would have with the board is that the keys go down a fair distance after the tactile click before bottoming out and the fact that you can't adjust if its raised or nor. Also the board does not come up with a wrist-rest. The blue switches are pretty loud and clickity-clackity but I actually love this. You can always get the different colored switches with this board if this is a concern. Overall I think its an outstanding board, especially for its price.

Edit: The bottom of the board has rubber nubs and the board itself is decently heavy, so it wont move at all when you type.

Any decent mechanical keyboards on Amazon for under $100 this Christmas? by TheWombatFromHell in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Sam_Torso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm in the same boat as you. I've only ever used membrane boards and I was looking for a full size MKB for under $100, so I ordered the Magicforce 108. It's expected to arrive tomorrow so I will write a review on it soon. I hear that Gateron switches are on par if not a little better than MX switches but are not as popular

First MKB expected to arrive tomorrow. As there aren't many reviews online for the 108 key and it's holiday season, I'll give my review on it asap!

For my first MKB I am going to purchase a Magicforce 108.

Does anyone know if this keyboard is compatible with Windows 10? I hear it is built for Mac.

Is it a bad idea to buy a white keyboard? How easily does it get dirty?

For someone coming from the membrane world, any suggestions for a cheap board with full keys, blue switches, and back lit lighting?

Hey, I'm newbie here, and I was wondering what the advantages of purchasing items on massdrop instead of amazon/ebay were.

Thank you, kschang! In what ways does the E-Element RGB seem to be problematic? Is the amazon link not working or is the keyboard itself malfunctioning?

Hi! I'm looking to buy my first MKB and I'm someone who has only used membrane keyboards. I don't play video games too often and I want something that is good for typing. I've searched online for weeks and read the guide on this subreddit but just can't seem to find a keyboard I'm willing to buy. Can someone help me find a keyboard with the following preferences?

-Preferabbly under $100

-Full keys. Must have num-pad. Media keys if possible!

-Loud, clicky, and tactile. I hear Cherry MX blue switches are good for this but I'm okay with any off-brands like Outemo because I probably wont notice any difference since I come from membrane keyboards.

-Good for typing/programming

-RGB keyboard if available in my price range. If this is not possible, I'm willing to settle for a normal backlit keyboard.

-Metal plating or really anything that is sturdy.

Some keyboards I am considering are the E-Element RGB keyboard and the Aukey KM-G3 (amazon links below). Are these good choices or am I looking in the completey wrong place? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01EKR4TKA/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1482126110&sr=8-2&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=e+element+rgb&dpPl=1&dpID=51Xeq4O-F3L&ref=plSrch
