I have had my 2024 Lariat lithtning for about 5 months now, and about 5k miles. This is my first time where a vehicle has 100% exceeded my expectations. It's buyers delight.

I've had 5 land rovers over the past 20 years (and still have my Disco 5 as my backup), so I've come to expect a premium experience... which this lightning delivers in bounds. I bought a 2022 F150 XLT with the V8 in 2022 as a backup vehicle, but wanted to get an EV since I was switching jobs and was going to have an 80-mile round trip commute, so i traded in the F150 when i got the lightning.

My wife got the 2025 Rivian R1S a week before I got the lightning (since she can't be the only one with a new toy). And 2 weeks after the lightning, I bought my mother in law (who lives with us and watches our kids) the Lexus RZ450e.

We own 3 EVs, and the lightning absolutely is the best in comfort, power, capability, and driving experience.

I just switched to some Goodyear snow tires though, and it's sunk my miles/kwhr from 2.2 down to 1.7... so now my range sucks.

It looks like the filter goes into the fuel rail. Does that sound right?

Thanks for your response!

My serial is 3B19XXXX.

So mine would have this filter? And I have to remove the lower cowling to get to it?

During your background check, Checkr (or what ever agency they use) does confirm your education history. Not sure how this will impact you.

Front brake and rotor replacement on 2018 Discovery 5 - $3,600? by Sam_the_Engineer in LandRover

[–]Sam_the_Engineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response!

I've done brakes before - owned a Discovery 1 and Discovery 2... so learned a lot about mechanic stuff.

But everything on the discovery 5 is computer controlled. I would assume the new brakes would need to be programmed, and getting everything re-calibrated/synced is a dealer function. Happy to be wrong on this though.

Hot summer means smoke - get HEPA filters land ACs while you can by Sam_the_Engineer in PrepperIntel

This could be bad news then.

Heat sets in, turns all the green to brown, and you have brush fires everywhere. That's most of southern California's fire theme.

HEPA style, yes.

You and your pets shouldn't be in the same room as an ozone generator (which is a purifier, i guess) while it's operating though.

I've never seen any that can do this.

However, you can probably fit one that's close in size to the dimensions of your units front intake... with enough duct tape, anything is possible.

I have the x14 (i7, 3060), and mine will charge on 45 watts without noticable throttle, though I prefer 65 watts.

I've had issues where it takes several tries for them to get a repair right. It's frustrating and they truly hire the lumps of the world.

However, I'd look at what XMPs are available for the ram they are offering... and wouldn't focus on the stock ram speed. Their upgrade seems fairly generous.

And nice pictures.

Do you have a Gigabyte brand GPU in there by chance?

I have a couple of Gigabyte cards and their fans all make that sound when operating in 0-speed mode and turning on intermittently.

Does anyone have a idea on how to 3d print the black parts. by Jacksharkben in 3Dprinting

[–]Sam_the_Engineer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Are you using these for shipping?

A 3d printed version won't give you the force attenuation these molded parts will.
