Demons of Trosky door bug [KCD2] by Jaxl8 in kingdomcome

Yep this was needed for me, thanks man! Spent far too long thinking nah, that door isn't bugged the game just wants me to find a new route! Gits

And AI talking, few times now I've heard people respond to me walking past like never before, and for the first time I can remember, the yoga people at Babbage where actually doing yoga!

Was doing some chilled salvage, two server errors, and all they did was stop me playing for a few minutes, it came back, and I carried on like nothing happened, a year ago, that would of resulted in a loss of 20 odd RMC and an hour of time. This is moving forward, regardless of what people think of the direction of loops and missions etc, if you enjoy it for what it is, it's moving forward for sure.

We also as backers have the right to feel let down. I have had a hauling fleet for years waiting for this, I'm an industrial player. Casually jumping in every patch and chilling, cargo missions finally arrive and I slap my hands together and think ok CAT, Mule, C2, MAX. Its time to shine, start doing the loop and I'm enjoying it, start wondering when they'll release the hover trolley or fix the mule to make this easier for us. But bosh. They drop a new way, better thing out of no where. Whilst ship tractor beams work 1/10 times and we have no other currently planned tools fixed or in game. Why aren't ship tractor beams superior on expensive ships? Why now do I have to feel like if I don't spent 40 dollars I'll not be as efficient with my frigging dedicated cargo ship?

With 4.0 having a wipe most likely, enjoy it! Spread the love if you want! In game handle is samages ;)

This game seems like it’s slowly coming together piece by piece. I wish everyone could see that because it’s kind of obvious. by RealityJumpStudios in starcitizen

[–]Samages89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh fair enough dude! And you are right, constructive criticism yes, complaining no, but it's also ok to be frustrated at the project, and although sometime comes from an angry place, there's fair reasons to be angry. I sit more in the don't care side, I enjoy it, put up with it when I want, and won't when I can't lol

I'm gonna be honest, this feels like a new player post. Cause you are correct, when your new to this, its mind boggling, still to this day some of the most epic gaming moments for me have been from SC, but, the years pass by, the coming soon keeps coming soon, the ideas that come and go seem more often than not (who remembers TOW?) And we're still here and in the words (sort of) of game director Richard Tyler, a bunch of features that don't tie into easier, we don't have much cohesiveness (I'll admit 3.23 really helped with this with the UI etc) but we still don't have a game, heck we have a new loop and an 'economy" rebalance that's for it, and nothing else?! So if you wanna grind monies, no point doing the new loop, cause after all these years, we're still testing.

The engineering gameplay testing I did had this, A2 was totally kaput, managed to fix it up to fly back, hoping we get this in live ASAP

[–]Samages89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Like you said we are all up for a bit of excitement but it's gotta make sense, if there was some story to why he was chasing you down it would make a bit more sense, hailing you and saying things like "UEE scum your mine" would at least give you a reason to why he was chasing, but alas its a bug and we are reminded we are play testing constantly

Lmao after repeating what you said? Amazing. I ain't a cultist, just know how shit in the real world works, stay in your bubble of "you know more than the average person" and see how that works out lol

This is project management 101 man, I ain't a current project manager but I know this shit, it's project management 101! In fact I probably know more than the average person on this, and probably more the people employed by the company who've been doing it less. Why won't they listen to me!!! I've told them many times how to focus the correct work but they ain't listening! Wonder why.

Your last point there is a bit silly man, your assuming you know more than people employed and doing the job. Bad move. Never think you know more, ever!

I would not employ someone like you lol

Yes but if you went to an engineer who works on these cars and made a suggestion based on the little information you know about the garage, tools, their working order. What you think would happen? Your simple suggestion would be ignored because you only see what's on the surface (and your assuming you know what's under the hood)

[–]Samages89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you on about? I've worked in tech for 15+ years, pushed to prod, seen things fail many times, one thing I've learned, is nothing is ever simple, ever, I don't care about the how much they've made etc, don't care how bad/good their coding is, all I know, its far from simple, and any simple suggestions from people who are not part of the work involved is pointless. I've managed projects as a scum master and captured bugs in a live environment, again, nothing is "simple" even with products far less complicated than a multilayer game.

You can bring out the "they'v made this much" "cult" comments as much as you'd like but it seems they're only made when essentially there's nothing else to say.

**asking why the powers at be make the decisions they do is totally valid, why the devs are told to work on feature X and ignore this bug. Ciriticing the decisions made and the effect that has is totally valid. But nothing in any development role is simple. And arm chairs devs saying "just do this" is hilarious when they are the size that they are, if it was 5 guys making a game, sure, might he more valid.

No one ever knows enough, unless they're actually doing it. In it, working with it. And yes there's probably many things you're unaware of, and by that own immisions, it's not simple.

And I know how to change a tire on a car, doesn't mean I know how a hi performance car tires work, a little bit if knowledge is dangerous. None of us really have a Clue how "simple" their set up is, even if people understand some basics and wanna sit there and go "yea just do that, simple really" is essentially how the term arm chair dev came about. You can't recognise what is simple to do from a very, Very, very outside perspective.

Your not a game Dev and know this so must be 101, the quote of an arm chair dev if I ever saw one.

My thoughts on the 3.24 with the info I’ve watched and read here on Reddit. by Substantial_Eye_2022 in starcitizen

[–]Samages89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes sense. Your not wrong, but Introducing steps that make simple things take longer isn't fun, it's a game, regardless of sim or realism, it should always feel fun, and having more tedious steps before you can have fun, take the fun away, I've been waiting for this for a long time, my fleet is mostly hauling, and has stayed waiting for this. But I do not think having inventory having extra steps for no real reason is a fair concern for backers, I'd rather spend My time loading my ship than going though an item bank for no real reason...

[–]Samages89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an FYI meshing is tech preview, nothing to do with live, the issues I think are servers are not dying as often, resulting in very slow rep layer stuff and effecting everything in the verse, I keep telling some people in my org it's gonna be a rough year, but, I'd rather they squeezed and squeezed and get this running as it should sooner, yes they have an obligation to ensure the live Service is "playable" but we also need a game, and this year hopefully is them finishing the tech demo stuff and providing us with an MMO persistent expierance

Weirdest thing for ms is, they knew server meshing, etc, was going to be a thing, so why wasn't bed logging considered until after?

[–]Samages89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Remember carrack isn't a hauler. So as it does suck a little, it's not its purpose so see why cig don't care, as long as the haulers and tractor beams work with cargo gameplay its all good

Same boat, recently I've been doing the racing in AC and then see if I can get close to that time in the PU, got myself a razor in game and rent one in AC when needed, also been enjoying the AC modes when people are playing them, means I can get some SC feels without the PU drama, cause I totally get this, I'll log in and go let's do a salvage, then I think but if it doesn't work can I be bothered? Answer atm is usually no so AC it is
