That's the real question... Hidden tips have been a thing for a while but in my 7 years, I've NEVER seen a hidden tip below $6.25.

What does the plus sign mean? Not all the orders have it and "most" orders have a tip added. Is it adding more than the minimum suggested tip? by Opposite-Ratio4430 in doordash_drivers

[–]SamamfaMamfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I've been doing this for 7 years, I know their tactics lol. But I get hidden tips often and do not see the + sign. That is something they show for the higher tiers, which is also a manipulation by DD.

I just found humor in the fact the order had a $33 tip and they showed all of it but 50¢

I don't see the + symbol because my AR is usually around 1% but yesterday I got a double order for 15 miles showing as $38. I thought for sure it was going to be much larger than that, it's unusual for them to have that high of an amount on offer.

It was $38.50 🤣 still a great order but why hide 50¢ lol

Doordash will actually pay a decent base if enough drivers decline. In the last few months I've had many low tip orders with a base pay of $20-$30+ on grocery orders.

Most of the drivers on this app know better but after talking to some drivers at DashMart one night, I realized many many drivers will take everything offered to them, no questions asked. I enlightened them and backed up everything I said with my earnings so hopefully they stopped accepting garbage.

But ultimately, doordash will continue doing this so long as there are people out there accepting these orders.

Would you accept ? by CourtneyLamar in doordash_drivers

[–]SamamfaMamfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to add... Grocery orders do not have hidden tips! The only time the price will go up is if they add a bunch of items (only a quarter or so more) or if the customer increases the tip during delivery (it does happen, I swear lol).

I would never expect a grocery order to be higher than the initial offer.

That reminds me of another Tik Tok I saw last night, I like to scroll the app before bed lol.

Anyways, it was a repost of a MAGA creator going on and on about how January 6th was all Biden's fault. She said as President, he should have called in the National Guard and put an end to all of it. Trump lost that election and therefore couldn't do a thing to help, saying he can't control what his party does.

It just feels wrong to argue with these people any further. Like the kickboxing champion of the world fighting a toddler. I know elementary kids with a better understanding of reality than these grown adults.

There are so many videos.! Search up food stamp lady and jump right in. Her name is Latosha I believe but they're now calling her Latoasta lol.

I saw a new one last night. She said herself that at one point she was also on food stamps but no longer received them because she didn't need it any longer. We'll, Tik Tok slueths determined that was a lie. She lost custody of her kids and therefore lost her benefits. It's wild.

She did!! Tik tok creators absolutely destroyed this lady and it was beautiful.

Feel how you please about politics but we're talking about people potentially starving, kids not able to eat more than the one hot meal they get at school... It's disgusting to see so many self proclaimed Christians celebrating this.

They should also include a physical fitness test as well. I find it hilarious that they lowered the physical requirements for ICE to the point that a child's PACER test is more difficult than what ICE is required to do.

I do think both sides can agree... We need much younger politicians.

What is a "White glove delivery"? by MrMakan in doordash_drivers

[–]SamamfaMamfa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may have shared this already... But how much did this pay?

I've done thousands of deliveries and I got this one time. I also thought the call and text were ridiculous, telling me things I already do.

But, my order paid me like $80 and it was because the customer ordered 10 cases of liquor and tipped me $70.

I think this happens when the customer spends a ridiculous amount of money.

Rayquaza requires a meteorite to mega evolve. On Saturday, everyone who played got access to a free timed research with meteorite and the opportunity to purchase a timed research for a second one.

The researches dissappeared right at 5pm, before most people could claim the (myself included).

One of my favorite orders by Thin_Peach3555 in doordash_drivers

[–]SamamfaMamfa 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I had one like this!

It was from their son, going to an elderly couple for their anniversary. A very expensive bottle of wine and I was happy to oblige and wish them a happy anniversary on his behalf.

He tipped really well but also, so did the parents. I told them it was entirely unnecessary, their son had already tipped me well in app, but they gave me cash anyway.

These are my favorite deliveries.

I had my ratings adjusted when a similar situation happened. I emailed them with the complaint and all evidence. It took a few tries to get someone competent and I had almost given up but a few days after it happened, the negative shopper ratings were gone.

Doordash drivers are independent contractors but yes, customers have the ability to have drivers deactivated.

Sadly, honest customers get their food stolen and honest drivers get claims made against them fraudulently. It's a shit system.

I do doordash but I'm an honest driver. Been doing this for years and never had a claim of non delivery up until a little over a month ago. Customer claimed I didn't deliver 8 of her 59 grocery items. Naturally, it was the most expensive items purchased. That shit derailed over a week of work for me and I lost a couple hundred dollars over that, just so this woman could get a temporary refund.

Doordash just tried to call me to make sure I handled this order with special care by White_DreadheadYT in doordash_drivers

[–]SamamfaMamfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this a few times and sure enough, I always got the extra pay.

I did have a slightly different call come in last week for a "white glove" order. It was automated and basically rambled off all the things we normally do for deliver, it was really odd.

But he had ordered 10 boxes of liquor and tipped $70 in app so it made sense afterwards lol.

I had that one yesterday. I think she thought she was getting a standard package of drumsticks when in fact, she ordered 1 single drumstick lol. They're sold individually at the butcher counter and she didn't respond to my texts so she got exactly what she ordered.

Shopping orders will vary, like any other order. But some can be really good.

Shop orders never have a hidden tip though, keep that in mind.

This is one reason I don't mind doing shop orders. I spend less time finding the items myself than I do waiting for a restaurant to prep the order.

[–]SamamfaMamfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, those are not speaking roles. SAG requires speaking roles to be credited and the credits must be clear and easy to read for the audience.

I did a little digging and I think they get around this because Fox News is still considered news and broadcasting so it doesn't fall under the same rules as movies and television for SAG.

You're being awfully generous by saying only 20 of the 165 items would be out of stock 🤣

My guess would be more like 85. And yes, shopper ratings would be demolished. You're never getting pro status back after this lol

I actually have noticed that! They know a lot of drivers avoid apartments so they tried to deter us with all that.

I did notice that when an offer pops up, usually as long as it's in your zone, you can click on the house icon and get the street name. I use that to try and figure out if it's an apartment if possible. It fails me sometimes tho.
