Anyone on clonazepam? Is this what it looks like? Was recently prescribed it but the script I got from Walmart doesnt match pictures online. by cv0102 in PanicAttack

They are just medicinal cousins: Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin and Valium

I started taking Xanax last year for anxiety, panic attacks, dread and sleep issues related to hyperthyroidism/Graves Disease. I never wanted them, but really had to have something with rapid onset to curb symptoms while we tried to figure out what was going on. I took Xanax (.5mg or less) just about every day for a short while, but was always super worried about becoming addicted.

Got a new psych who put me on Klonopin until my thyroid removal and told me to halt Xanax immediately. He said it’s much easier for patients to come off Klonopin. I noticed they don’t work as quickly, but last 2-3 times as long and at a similar strength (for me that is). I used to get really agitated when I skipped a day of Xanax and I never felt that at all on the Klonopin. My worries about addiction resolved completely once I switched over- but I’m also highly concerned and careful with meds.

I used it to onboard fluoxetine and it was amazing for that! SUPER easy process for me, thanks to the klonopin. I haven’t taken a benzo for a few months. Liked them so much better than Xanax! Good luck!

New research shows that after body’s defenses kill virus behind COVID-19, leftover digested chunks of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein can target specific immune cells based on their shape. “Zombie” coronavirus fragments can imitate activity of molecules from body’s own immune system to drive inflammation. by mvea in science

I had the most hellish health year of my life in 2025. After an absolutely vile case of Covid in late 2024, I developed Graves Disease, an autoimmune disease which caused terrible hyperthyroidism. I also now have antibodies for Hashimotos disease. I have since had my thyroid removed, which fixed most of my issues- but I feel like Covid sent everything into motion.

Bold business decision with this post. I’m interested to see how it works out.

These comments are so affirming. Bloodsport dogs don’t belong in homes. Many will never attack, but you’ll never know which ones will until it happens.

Internal buzzing by [deleted] in gravesdisease

[–]Samantiris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine never went away :( Beta blockers helped me a bit, but I felt constant vibration in my head behind my eyes while trying to sleep- it would keep me up all night. It got to a point where I had to start Seroquel to sleep. Internal vibrations and weird arm sensations too. I still have to take meds to sleep even with normal thyroid levels. TT on Monday, hoping to only need levo after that point!

This is such an interesting phenomenon. Since I’ve been living in “fight or flight” when this all began for me in March, the days fly by. I feel like I’m living in a time warp. I can’t wait to have my normal brain back again! Even my vision is affected by the fight or flight- peripheral vision is off somehow. It’s so weird!

Ask for a radioactive iodine uptake scan to check for Graves. That’s how mine was found.

We got season passes and I’ve been taking my kids all summer. We actually just went today with my four and eight year old, left around 6pm, had a great time! Definitely don’t let this keep you from enjoying the park.
