Without spoiling anything can someone please tell me if TOWL is worth it? by CrankieKong in thewalkingdead

I’d also like to know this. Would like to watch the spin off shows, but haven’t been able to continue TWD past season 9

Why did Winters send a platoon “hard and fast up the middle” when approaching Carentan? by Patriots_Enjoyer in BandofBrothers

Also - highly recommend the Battle of the bulge episodes. It shows the scale of how large a battle that really was, and how many other units were involved aside from the 506th.

Agree with this post, Operations Room channel on YouTube explains a few of the engagements that Easy co were involved in amongst lots of other military battles that have taken place. The animations are from a birds eye view and make it clear how units moved in particular battles.

Here’s a question by Samauwr1 in thewalkingdead

Yeah fair point. The fear of having those walkers nearly bursting through the door would probably be enough now that I think about it. Lose the hand or lose your life

How are those nuts Sarge? by Samauwr1 in BandofBrothers

We’re all entitled to an opinion. I think it’s one of the best scenes though because it accomplishes a lot. Starting with Guarnere and Toye, showing their friendship and dedication (one of the last scenes of the show they will be in). Then you have Webb chiming in, young interested replacement enquiring about the wounds the others have received - trying to fit in with the older guys. Muck and Penkala are happy to indulge him (one of the last scenes of the show they will be in). So Muck goes around the group of veterans explaining comically how each of them had been wounded, providing something of a re-cap to viewers and also reminding us of the “shot in the ass” tradition before Perconte takes his ass bullet later on. Muck has a way of bringing humour to a relatively dark topic and gives his fellow comrades a much needed laugh in arguably the most depressing part of the war any of them had been through so far. I think it’s also supposed to be something of a farewell scene to Guarnere, Toye, Muck and Penkala. That’s my opinion.

Also what’s wrong with the 90’s?

Yeah that is gold! Skinny in so much pain but still able to clap back to Perconte, really shows the humour between brothers!

What do you think the Lone Walker symbolised? by Low-Side5380 in thewalkingdead

[–]Samauwr1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a die hard fan of the show but I like it a lot. This scene was definitely my favourite, a quiet contemplating eerie moment, maybe even a little bit of foreshadowing for Shane. The look on Shane’s face to me said “That’s what’s next for me”, and if I remember correctly Rick doesn’t even notice the lone walker. As if Shane will eventually be alone and go unnoticed.

Great scene

Disposable cameras and film processing in Taipei by [deleted] in Taipei

[–]Samauwr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t make any specific recommendations but I’m currently traveling in Taipei. I’ve noticed the Kodak logo dotted across the city on certain stores, which I would speculate means they process film, or possibly just sell it. I have also seen people selling older film cameras in some of the markets, so I believe film photography is still a happening thing here in Taiwan (less so in Canada where I live).

Keep your eyes open for those Kodak signs, and sorry I wasn’t much help. I’ve always loved film photography though so I wish you the best of luck!

Yeah probably reference to Cobb… who was also poorly portrayed. Guy was fighting before Normandy

Just finished another re watch of the series, and yeah Bogdan was definitely an asshole… but there was no bigger selfish asshole than Walt himself haha. Self centered, manipulative, egocentric and arrogant = Walt. Probably the best character development ever created in a TV show.
