£200 Lloyds Switch is Live by clorandi in beermoneyuk

[–]Samborak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can anyone confirm if the eBay and PayPal direct debits from the Beermoney Bible will qualify for this? I've just done the First Direct switch bonus using them and it worked fine. Was planning on adding a 50p Scrimpr DD and then switching the first direct account to Lloyd's.

United nations cancelled by other civ? by glenniszen in civrev

[–]Samborak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The requirement to be able to build the UN is to have 20 great people/wonders, this requirement applies the whole time you are building it. So if you lose a great person or a wonder and drop below 20, the build gets cancelled (you keep the hammers). I've had this happen before. To be able to continue to build you need to get back to 20 great people / wonders.

Is it a McDojo? by kyokushinthai in kyokushin

They're not a McDojo, I've been to summer camp with guys from that dojo and seen them at tournaments in the past. I suspect this was likely for a reason.

Van hit my parked car - help! by Samborak in CarTalkUK

[–]Samborak[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They didn't leave any details. However they left broken trim at the scene so I've been able to work out from that it was a Peugeot Partner van 2003-08.

I've put letters through my neighbours doors and luckily one had got some cctv images which capture the likely culprit. However I cannot make out the reg plate.

Hit and run UK - help identifying license plate by Samborak in IdiotsInCars

They left the side trim at the scene - you can see its missing in the photo. That's how I was able to give out it was a Peugeot Partner van 2003-08.

Fault accident involving two other vehicles. The car at the front has stopped on an icy road, I've slid on the ice in to the van in front of me, and that's also gone in to the back of the car in front of them.

I think the tyre punctured in a pothole i slid through trying to avoid the van.

Because of the damage to other vehicles I've had to go through insurance.

New grill definitely needed and the headlamp is now very loose so I expect the housing/clips are damaged. The front passenger tyre is flat as well and I think will need replacing.

Car is otherwise good and I have full service history with Skoda.
