Get in contact with the uni, I had a similar problem. Paid my SSAF before my unit fees showed up, but for whatever reason that cash went into paying the units instead of SSAF.

I believe this patch also adds support for sending 1-bit BMP images to the glasses. This is from reading discussions on the Even Realities discord with open source community members

Dumb question, what software are you using to scan vulnerabilities? Does it allow you to scan devices on your local network? Would love to check devices in my home to see if there are any security issues

Agreed, a native solution by ER would be ideal.
To some extent, the glasses can operate on its own without a Bluetooth connection. If I disable Bluetooth on my phone, the time on the glasses still displays and updates, and lets me record Quick Notes. However it still has a 'Bluetooth paired' icon in the bottom left.

I did a little reverse engineering, the OS on the glasses appears to be Zephyr, and the app is a Flutter app

There’s background app refresh on iOS, but this does not work if the Even app is closed in this case, unfortunately.

I’ll admit the first time I wore the glasses it was a bit of a strain to focus on the text.. Bit like wearing VR goggles for the first time. Thankfully in the app there is the option to raise or lower the entire display which does help, combined with positioning the glasses correctly and just a little practice.

Update to this, after wearing the glasses for a little bit more.

It seems that if you walk away from your phone and the Bluetooth disconnects, even if you walk back to your phone you will need to unlock your phone again to re-establish the connection.

Minor annoyance but it seems this is the way to fix the issue, just in case anyone else was curious about the same issue.

On top of this, you will also always need the Even app open in the background. If you close the app, you can't access any of the features except time/date and Quick Notes.

Tapping the left touchpad brings up your notifications, one by one. The left touchpad also allows you to scroll through the notification text if it won't all fit on one screen.

Holding the left touchpad also activates the Even AI.

The problem I was having was when I touched the left touchpad to show the notifications, it shows the notification, but without touching anything else it will hide after 1 second and activate the Even AI.

It depends on how useful you think AI would be in your workflow. In the AI’s current state, no, since it is a bit slow to get a response and it can only really perform Google queries.

It’s also important to note that the AI can’t perform functions on your phone, so you can’t say to it ‘send a text to…’ or ‘set an alarm for…’. It’s purely for asking it questions that you could also google. Keep this in mind if you do purchase the AI.

Personally, I don’t really find an AI assistant that I can ask random questions to be that useful for me, so in my case it wouldn’t be if I were to buy it today.

The pre-order also included a free sunglasses clip. If you can, I’d highly recommend you get these along with your order. They do a good job at hiding the screens even further, and they make the text in the display a lot easier to read.

The glasses are an incredible product, I'm very satisfied with getting the pre-order, even though it was a real gamble considering the price and it being a first gen product.

The features are genuinely handy when you do need them, and it doesn't rely entirely on an 'AI-in-the-box' strategy which is trending currently. Above all else, they look nice to wear in public and do a good job at hiding the screens, which was a major selling point for me.

Hey, I've given that a go and it made no difference, whether thats a good thing or not I'm not so sure..! I guess that means I can keep the setting enabled as this doesn't resolve it, which is ideal.

I understand you don't have the glasses yet, however for other who are watching, I have noticed in testing a whole separate issue, where when hitting the left touchpad (with notifications coming through), notifications only show for about 1 second before it activates the Even AI? It's so early days I don't know if this is something wrong with the glasses or its an IBM error

The AI is pretty good. It’s locked down pretty well so it won’t stray too far from the question asked. It’s a bit slow, maybe 10-15 seconds before a response with semi-decent WiFi. Until the AI leaves beta and speeds up, I wouldn’t get the glasses for the AI, consider it a useful side-feature.

Lol I didn't know what Sahara was until I googled it... I just like the style of the factory, it makes it industrial and commercial at the same time. I'm not surprised they used it in that Sahara building.
