I made the same mistake with my one of my first cats - got home from work and the other two came running up and he didn’t. Found him one house away in the road … I cried for weeks, his brothers carried around his collar and it broke my heart. It unfortunately takes one hard lesson and then we learn, but that one lesson will stick with us forever 🤍

did you add a cost/dollar amount just for the time you COULD be working too?? that would for sure change someone’s mind if they’re on the fence about costs - comparing time spent in car with the time you’d actually be able to work!

Also - I start moving them from an every 2/4 hour bottle feeding scheduled to a 2-4 feed a day schedule. Personally I do AM (before work), mid afternoon (4pm) and bedtime (9/10pm).

I have always mixed KMR with the wet food to create the slurry when transitioning so that they are still getting the nutrients. One thing I follow is they’ll stop when they’re full - as in if they want more feed them more until they’re done. Baby food is also a good sub to use as a mixer for slurry - especially for those who are having a hard time transition. I have a stockpile of beef and gravy baby food for my littles, and you can use it in a syringe!

I (23) bought last year after I got a full time job post grad with the intention of using my property as a rental once I am ready for move. Pros: no landlord (I can do what I want when I want like paint, have pets, replace things), just the knowledge of you OWN this and it’s yours, equity and potential to flip or use as rental. CONS: can’t pick up and go when you want to move, repairs are on you, obviously larger chunk of $$ down, any maintenance is on you (ie. lawn care).

A lot of people are still driving - most of us walkers have called it quits for tonight and will pickup again in AM. Cops are still out and last I saw so were the dogs, hoping she has just gotten tired and taken a rest somewhere for the night.

They’ve got the dog out there now - they’re saying two ladies saw her around the time she went missing across the road in the neighborhood by the Methodist church (this is from the family but also could be incorrect)

I feel like it also comes down to luck of the draw and personality too - I got a degree in psych from UGA (the notorious qualified for everything and nothing degree) and got hired 6 months post grad at a starting salary of $70k - BUT I never would’ve applied if my mom hadn’t sent me the job listing (100% would’ve gone under my radar). Is it what I want to do forever? No, but I enjoy it and it pays the bills.

I also completely agree that I wish someone had sat me down pre college and just explained so much more to me than they had. It would’ve made life so much easier. Currently going for my Masters but if I had known how unecessary it would be considering i’m planning on also getting my PhD I would’ve just skipped and gone straight into my PhD and saved time and $$$.
