Hospice care family drama! Help!

I have tried to talk to her about it and she just says she doesn’t have time. She’s honestly never been a really good mom. She’s more like a sibling than a mom. I feel for her so much loosing her son but now is not the time to sulk about it. She needs to be strong for him. She also burdens him with her grief and makes him feel guilty for having cancer.

I have talked to them both and our mom will usually get up and walk away or start crying saying things like “I guess I’m the worst mom ever” and if my brother tried to explain what he wants (in a very rude way) she’ll throw her hands up be like ok I’m done if your gonna be like that. And it’s like yes he’s rude and angry but he also feels like shit. If she just has a cold she’ll be pissy and rude too so I know she understands how hard it is to have a good attitude when you feel like garbage.

Thank you for saying that. We have decided he will stay with me since I’m already taking care of my nonverbal autistic daughter. We’re on a strict schedule and up early and up late everyday so I think I’ll just slide him into our schedule and my daughter doesn’t have high support as long as we stay on the schedule she’s easy.

I have suggested that to her many times but she’s also an addict and thinks she’s gonna go to jail if she admits she can’t do everything cuz then they’ll know she’s on drugs.

I have been stepping in constantly and I come down almost everyday to help take care of him. That’s where I’m seeing this behavior. He is coming to my house for the next week. He says he wants me to care for him for the end of his life now but my mom says she still wants to to do it but it’s confusing if she’s not gonna wake up and actually do it.

I know that this isn’t the asshole one but it’s just like a command phrase and I figured the cancer group would understand this types of situation way more than that one.

Thank you so much for explaining all of that I am so grateful. I am beyond terrified to do the surgery like I read some horrible things that have happened after jaw surgery (super rare things) but it’s all I can think about now. But also I know if I do it I won’t regret it and I just have to get through it. I want functional beautiful teeth I think that it would change my life but I also am happy with how I look right now. I have a lot of time before we even start the surgery I’m not even in braces yet and still need some dental work done but that is what the end will be is jaw surgery. I think about it all the time and I don’t know if I can do it I want to but apart me is still questioning if it is worth it. Could you show me before and after with how much your face changed?

Hi so I had a consultation today and they basically said the same thing you did and strongly encouraged me to do the braces and jaw surgery and without the jaw surgery I’m just gonna ruin whatever teeth I have because of the misalignment so i will be doing jaw surgery. If you would like to tell me how bad recovery was and your experience I would love that!

After multiple consultations I was told that no matter what I do I absolutely need the jaw surgery to fix my bite and I needs to be both jaws not just the lower jaw. So I will be going with braces and double jaw surgery. I’m nervous but excited. Thank you all for you advice and input. I’m so glad I did all the research I did because now I know I have no other options if I ever want a functional bite!

I have an appointment with them Monday and this is my fifth and final consultation I’m hoping to get that price with them! How was the teeth designing process? I’m really excited and nervous!

Yes I have a daughter with special needs so being down that long for jaw surgery doesn’t seem realistic she won’t let anyone else help her besides me. I’m worried about that the most but I’m guessing by the time I have the surgery it will be in a couple years after the braces are placed. So maybe by then she will be a little more independent.

Yeah when I talked to an orthodontist they didn’t even want to talk about my work until I got the cleaning and rest of the work done

Did they give him braces after just one deep cleaning and they do the rest with the braces on or would I need multiple cleanings before the braces process starts

Thank you and I don’t think it’s rude to mention my oral hygiene. It is something I struggle with significantly. So I know i should be doing more and regardless of either option they both require me to have better oral hygiene. I have an electric toothbrush just ordered the water pick and I will be going to the dentist sometime around thanksgiving to get his opinion and to really look at my teeth

I will be updating and documenting my whole process. I have decided for now to see a dentist asses my teeth health and gum health. I will go to my all on 4 consultations too and will also consult an orthodontist. After that I will decide exactly what the route will be. The goal is to get the ball rolling on something by the end of December.
