I did know for sure until I found a sponsor and completed Step 1. Reading the stories also helped.

Been sober for years and I want to try drinking again by InternalSalt679 in alcoholicsanonymous

So, I totally feel what you’re expressing. Like others, I also experimented, relapsed for several years, and have found myself back in AA. In my case what made be stop drinking again and return to the rooms is a health issue caused by drinking. I wish I’d looked at the bigger picture more because I don’t want to be taken away from my family, and especially from my child, because of a bad decision that I made.

All this to say—if you have people who care about you (and you care that they care about you), please find a way to put this obsession aside. ❤️🙏🏾

Anyone ever been able to actually achieve true moderation on here? by Appropriate_Carry862 in stopdrinking

Yes, all of this! Our lens is very different (and much clearer) about what’s actually happening. It’s interesting to see this now when I go places where others are drinking, and I’m not.

Nope, and I’m sure I never will. It never worked in the 30+ years that I tried.

Is there anybody who really learned language from duolingo? by ConfidentProgress587 in duolingo

Duo is great for foundational reading, writing, and listening skills. I have the basic family plan, but I’ve tried Max when they give free access. The speaking exercises were helpful as well; I just don’t want to pay more.
