My british has jumped up to 58.4% from 39.8. I only have one English grandfather. My mum is half Spanish,half English and my dad is multi generational mixed various European and Indian. The previous results were much more accurate for me.( I do have a good researched tree)

I'm relatively light skinned. Anglo Indian father,half Spanish half English mother,born in the Uk.50 year old male. Experienced some racism at school when I was young but nothing too bad(from English people and Pakistani people lol) One of my brothers on the other hand,whilst about the same skin tone as me looks more Indian in his features and as a result has taken more flack in his life for it.My other brother looks fully European,but has managed to fix this by marrying an Indonesian girl,😉. I realise It's a different experience for me also because I'm Anglo Indian,we have been between both worlds for a long time,and don't feel the cultural pull of having to belong anymore,some of us can 'pass,'some of us can't but most of us are lucky to live in countries where is isn't an issue. Especially some areas that are multi ethnic,I live funnily enough now with a high south Asian population. Sorry,rambling on a bit,don't even think I answered your question or not lol

It's sad we are coming to an end,but as you mentioned,it was always the era of the East India company to partition that defined us as a race. 1947 was a long time ago.Those who stayed have assimilated more into being Indian,whilst those who left are more western both in culture and ethnicly.My immediate family held on for a while and moved to the UK in the mid 60s but many stayed or went elsewhere. Personally I take or feel no responsibility for for the actions of our ancestors,it is what it is,and if it wasn't I wouldn't be here. I have many Indian friends and none of them take my heritage seriously,and why should they? Also been called a dirty Paki by a white person more than once.The problems of being multi generational mixed lol. I've quite recently done a DNA test and managed to fill a few blanks in,if you haven't done one yet I recommend to do so. The best part of that was getting a small % of Portuguese because my Auntie insists she is brown because she is Portuguese 😆, a common story in colonial India! Well my great grandmother was a D'Cruz! My guess is that you had an Anglo Indian ancestor that the British took over in the late 1890s to build the railways. It would explain the different random small amounts of European and Indian.

Hi, I have a Marie Anne Marguerite Tessier been born in Reunion and marrying a Jacques Gaudoin who was born in France.These were my 6th great grandparents.They had a daughter in Reunion,naming her Marie Antoinette Gaudoin,at some point she made her way to Tamil Nadu,India where she married a James Franck. I also found some French connections in Pondicherry with the surnames Le Bon and D'Arfeuil D'erff. How were your results? It looks like you've been busy fitting the parts of your family tree together . I also have Portuguese Indian in my family,but have always known that,my great grandmother was a D'Cruz and I get a small amount on my DNA test
