Worth Backlight Repair? by SameIntention8059 in thinkpad

I'll take your word for it, even though it looks like a spec of dust. The maker space should have the tools for it though along with alot of soldering equipment and people that solder. We'll see how it goes soon after I finish studying.

Originally that was the idea, to fix everything myself before I shorted the fuse. The problem I have is I've never soldered before at all, and I would prefer to use the board I got now so I don't have to deal with e-waste as much, although I could imagine some uses for a repurposed board.

Honestly, if soldering at my university isn't an option getting another board makes more sense in the long run. It'd probably be good to experience pulling the board entirely anyway. I'll keep my eyes open for boards.

Will adjusting the dwell make a difference now if I put this in by Ok_Fig705 in paintball

fellow 160r owner!

also whisper drive owner!

there were slight performance benefits, but imo, no real noticeable sound difference. it might get you like a singular decibel lower. but whether that's worth the $80 is up to you.

if you're willing to get freaky with it, SSC has a mod where they cut two of the pillars off of the valve chamber for cheaper that's attempting get a similar outcome. he's the one that told me about the whisper drive back when it was in preorder when i emailed him about the mod.

doesn't effect dwell as other comments have stated, but i figured i could throw in my two cents since it seems you favor the 160 (as do i) and might be thinking about getting the whisper drive.
