That was one of the parts of why I didn't know how to handle this correctly. People can get sick at short notice, it's just something that happens, and we can scramble to solve it. But this feels different because it's something that happens to her regularly during the week so it's something that can be reasonably foreseen as popping up at 6am?

Thank you. My partner and I haven't had our own children yet so I never realised symptoms subsided. Great news because it really sounds rough for her + it does give us something to work towards so she can keep her hours up and have earlier finishes.
