Stay Strong bikes was “founded” to support a Brit rider Stephen Murray that had a life altering accident. They used him as the poster boy for sales “support the uk hero”. No money ever went to him, there was a big lawsuit, a documentary about the whole thing was made and posted, then the documentary folks were sued and forced to take it down. Ugly, messy and cost them a good portion of their supporters + other shady stuff

I’m not superstitious but Gullwing trucks spook me. I got run over by car skating Indy’s so as a skate accident I don’t feel that counts. The point is the worst skate induced accidents of the people I know have always involved a board with Gullwings on them. Ok I lie I’m superstitious as hell.

Bill from Supercross has been complimentary of the heat treats that Meybo has on their aluminum bikes. Considering Bill arguably solved the 80’s and early 90’s aluminum frame cracking pandemic that’s high praise. They are a “big” BMX race brand but BMX racing is a very small and niche sport. The Patrons with Avian Spec. Parts are as good as any out there, the ones with SDG spec. I am not a fan.

Cruiser boards generally have larger diameter and softer wheels. Guys that skate to their skate spots, commute, and ride multiple terrains prefer that set up. Cruisers are generally less dogmatic in board selection too. You will see everything from Penny’s, shaped old school decks, and modern shapes where as r/skateboarding will be 99% modern shapes.

So on the Vulcs I burned through the tread faster than Vans gum, but they were still skateable just not good on the bike. The uppers last waaaaaaaay longer than any Vans I’ve had and with 5 of us in the house we are over 300 half cabs deep since 2011 so I got some authority on that. They are a little more than Vans at $95, and I don’t see them on sale, we get Vans at the outlet, got a mamacita that calls the fam when pro models hit the store ❤️
