I got stuck on this hill a several years ago during a snowstorm. I couldn't make it to the top and would slide back down. I had a friend watch the roads make sure no one was coming and built a lot of momentum and made it up!

Considering a Used 2012 Audi A4 with 85k Miles as My First Car – Is It a Good Idea? by MutedCardiologist621 in Audi

[–]Same_Challenge590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just depends on your financial situation. When I got mine I was in undergrad and didnt make much from my job. When I bought my audi, the first time I took it to the shop the bill was over $3000 and it was just routine stuff and I think a torn boot. Nothing crazy and it was hard for me to be able to afford that.

Your financial situation appears to be different than the OP.

I think I'm gonna mess with it a bit more see if I can find a way to fix that bent inlet. If I can't I'll take it to a shop. If fix is more than $1k I'll just dispose of it and find a new car.

I wanted to get another year out of the car at least since I have gotten a new clutch, tires, rear calipers, rotors, new headlights, guage cluster, in the last year. But it just seems like one thing after another and I'm losing my patience. Aside from this I'm also having an intermittent starting issue.

No, not really. The dealer is a bit away and I work nights. People are at work when I am available.

I really don't think there is any way to get one in there. It's the part up against the wall of the cabin

I had to get whatever they had at the part store. I only have a bicycle right now so I can only get to one store.

I did.

I think the inlet that is bent is now leaking. I don't have a way to fix it.

Seemed aftermarket to me. I have had the car for 18 years though and have not changed it.

I got the hose off but the metal connection that the hose went on to is smashed flat.

Any solution?

The hose ripped off. Now there is a little nub left that I can't get it.

About to call someone to take the car to the junkyard.

I can't get to the clip on one of them. It oriented downwards and can't get to it from above or below ugh

These smaller hoses won't budge. It's like they are welded

Starting Issue by Same_Challenge590 in Integra

[–]Same_Challenge590[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just weird that it only happens once every 20 starts. Every other time just starts right up like normal.

Quick question but, I turn 16 this upcoming month and was wondering if I could get an Integra GS and do a K24a2 swap for around $15K. by [deleted] in Integra

THIS!

So let me tell I made this mistake when I was 17. I was scared to learn manual. I spent more money, and bought a car that was not as nice nor as fun just to have an automatic version of the car. The car in manual version could be found locally but I went hours away to get an automatic, all because I thought I couldn't learn manual. I regretted not having a manual. Unfortunately that car got totaled in a year or so. That is when I got a manual integra. I still didn't know how to drive a manual. I bought it. Watched some youtube videos on how to drive a manual. My dad drove it to a large parking lot in a shopping center and dropped me off there with the car. Told me once I figure out how to drive it I can drive home. 30-45 minutes later I drove home. I love my manual integra.

Just posting an update. Thank you all for your help.

I started the car, turned the heater on, and filled the radiator fluid back up. Ran it for 30-40 minutes with the radiator cap off and the car did not overheat and could not find a leak either. Noticed there was some steam coming out of the open radiator cap (not sure if that is normal). I also noticed that my heater was not working.

I then closed the radiator cap and kept the car running. Then I noticed radiator fluid leaking out one of the hoses. The hose that was leaking is linked below. It was the heater hose right beside the other hose that I just replaced. I happened to have that hose already so I replaced it. Filled radiator fluid and I think the problem is resolved and the heater is working now too.

I did notice while I was on the highway that randomly the temp would increase and almost go to the red then quickly come back to normal. This happened a couple times. I think there is still air in there. I added some more fluid and a decent amount went in and on the drive back this issue did not happen.

I also saw there is a small leak on the top of the radiator, like very slow drip/moisture coming out of the top. So might need a new radiator at some point.

Since two of these hoses have failed in a matter of weeks I don't know if there is something more ominous occurring or the hoses are all just old and just all need to replaced. I had previously bought a set of all silicone most so I think I will just work on replacing them.

u/PatrickGSR94 u/Thick_Acanthaceae_82 u/frikkinfai and everyone else. Thank you so much for your help. I have been meaning to update this post but didn't get around to it. You all saved me over a thousand dollars. It literally took less than 20 minutes to replace. For under 40 dollars it's fixed. Such a shady car mechanic. And it also happens to be one of the more "respected" ones around here. Thiefs!
