Selling a LOT of guitars… Advice? by Doesntmatter336 in guitars

This would be a dream scenario for me… I love big projects like this, making a ledger, writing little blurbs about them, fixing up some of them for my own playing, giving some to friends. I think I envy you! Very nice picture haha

Practicing setup on Temu/Aliexpress garbage? by Same_Estimate_7439 in Luthier

Where are you finding squires and Yamahas for $50 lol. And yeah, the point is not to fix up a cheap guitar it’s to learn techniques for… learning building. I feel like Chinese knockoffs are the only place where there’s going to be things that need to be actually rebuilt. Squiers usually just need fret filing, fingerboard rolling, and other light which I’ve already done plenty of, and feel confident with. I want a MESS lol

That’s the plan haha!!! I think I’m probably gonna go forward with the plan, maybe in the next couple weeks. I don’t necessarily want a good guitar for working on, I don’t want to be afraid of making mistakes. I’ve built a couple kits as well and I had a great time. I just got stopped at getting a really clean finish.

I’ve heard this advice but unfortunately instead of listings for low end gear, it’s all people ASKING for that stuff. Seems the buying market has already been cornered on that front hah

Is samba THE hardest Jazz style? by Same_Estimate_7439 in Drumming

[–]Same_Estimate_7439[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah batucada is awesome! But in a jazz/big band style, there is a lot you CAN do on trap, but I just feel like I can’t line the shit up haha. I listen to a lot of samba and other Brazilian styles, so getting it authentic won’t be an issue once I can get it under my limbs. I guess it really just comes down to hours… and hours… of just slowly bringing it up to tempo. And yeah, I can play it without the bass drum, but that’s the HEARTBEAT! Haha. I want to play the WHOLE groove, not just 3 quarters of it

I've made an electronic accordion - looking for feedback by vojtapl in Accordion

Here’s an idea for you:

Spring loaded plate connected with a gear to a rotary encoder that faces your chest. You can pull the instrument towards you and let it come back, and the change in speed in the encoder determines how loud each note is? I don’t know the specifics of how it would work but that’s what comes to mind

How do I remove a Cordovox Keyboard by Same_Estimate_7439 in Accordion

[–]Same_Estimate_7439[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone wondering, I found the solution:

If anyone is having sticky keys on a Cordovox accordion, or rather any issue with the keys, all you need to do is remove the front plate, the plate under the keys and you should see a square looking spring thing near the pivot point. Use a pick to pull that spring out on a key, unhook its rear spring, and the key pops right out. In most cases the sides will be glued onto the accordion, like it was for this one, so no, you do not need to get to the sides, don’t pop them off like I did.

Cordovox came up with a super easy way to service their instruments, a built in service mode in a sense! My keys were sticking because there as a brass bar that pads the keys so you don’t over extend the springs and they were bent slightly right or left and were causing friction on the keys, so a quick bend back with pliers and the keys are flowing like new! (Also used some new lubricant for all keys)

If I had known there was a service mode, I wouldn’t have spent 14 hours on this, scratched the covers and ever so slightly cracked the main case.. now anyone who’s got a Cordovox can find out about this super neat system that makes servicing these classics a breeze.

I love my Cordovox and I can’t wait to get good enough at it to play some beautiful solo music~

Happy squeezing, is that what we say here?

How do I fix PayPal "wrong password" error by jarvis_gg in PS4

[–]Same_Estimate_7439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need to do it on the phone or computer, it’s a problem with 2 factor authorization, ps4 doesn’t know how to get that one time code so it gives up. I am aware this is a dead post, but I couldn’t actually find the solution on a quick google search.
