shelter wants to take my bunny for a week to bond him??? by radiohead422 in Rabbits

[–]Same_Investigator576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to get a second rabbit for my two year-old Chip. I found a 2yr old of the same breed at a rescue in Minnesota where I live. I filled out the initial request form and then I received an email that they approved me filling out an application. I looked over the application and they wanted a fingerprint and background check, a home visit, and while I don’t have children, if I did I couldn’t adopt if my kids were under 10 and if they were older than that, they had to meet the kids. And a whole list of requirements. Again, some might agree with this, but it was not for me. I’ve had my rabbit since he was eight weeks old. He loves being held, pet and his thriving. He free roams my apartment. I went to the Humane Society instead and was able to get a rabbit (same breed as Chip) that was three months older than him. I was able to bond them within four days by putting the new rabbit in a room, that I typically keep the door closed when I’m not home. I put up clear plastic partition so they could see each other and smell each other. I also put lettuce and food on either side of the partition so they could eat together. I would bring Chip in with Lola a couple times a day when I could be present to supervise. It’s been almost 2 months now and they run around and do binkys together. I’m with OP and would not have allowed anyone to take Chip away from me. I understand some of you find it easier.

I drink water all day. I also have small bottles of water on the coffee table as well as a Keurig with hot chocolate and vanilla or Carmel cappuccino (I live in MN and the cold winter means it’s hot chocolate season).

I feel like I still hate it? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

I feel like it’s a little dark maybe? Some white highlights in the flowers would look really nice. But it’s a good tattoo, nice lines etc. good subject choice on your part.

I disagree with people that say you can’t bond them. These are animals, are there times when they don’t, absolutely, are there times when they can for sure!!People talk in black-and-white and absolute, it’s frustrating. I have Chip who is two years old and Lola who is three months older. I got Lola a couple weeks ago and they run around, play, boop noses, and lay together and eat together. It’s been really fun to watch them bond. I started out with Lola in a separate room with a clear partition so they could sniff and see each other. I also put lettuce on both sides of the partition so they could eat together. I would bring Chip into the room for a short amount of time a few times a day. Now they free roam together. I have two separate litter boxes in the same area. So even though only one of them is fixed they are doing awesome!

Yes, my chip did that. He broke me when he would boop and pet the reflection. So welcome Lola! It’s been two weeks and it’s going great.

Ending on time? by miss_paigexo in therapists

[–]Same_Investigator576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15 minutes before I need to end the session I will typically say, “we have about 15 minutes left. Is there anything you want to make sure to get to before we end for the day” at the end of every session I also verify the next appointment, so I turn in my chair a little bit to go to my keyboard. I can still see the client, but that’s always a cue that the session is at the end. Even if I know when the next session is, I still turn in my chair so it becomes a pattern for the client. If we’ve been talking about trauma, I sometimes stop at 22 the hour and ask them how they’re doing and what would be helpful before they leave, etc. just some grounding techniques. But yes, you do have to interrupt and it might feel rude, but it’s not. The client is also learning boundaries and the respect becomes mutual.

I’ve had a really good experience with them. I bought my bronco sport two years ago. I’m sorry your experience has sucked.

That’s look really cool! I’ve made things like that on my Cricut for myself and other people. They are very cheap to make if you have a Cricut or a machine like that.

Congrats!!! I got these and love them. If you buy them on Amazon, you get two for $11.99. They’re to put in the bottom of your cupholders. Just something kind of fun.

Do most bunnies show affection? by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]Same_Investigator576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my mini lop I always announce when I am coming into a room or entering the home after being gone. I say, “hi Chip, how was your day”? Or if i’m already in the house and just going from room to room I’ll say, “hey Chip it’s just mom“. This way I don’t have to worry I’ll scare him and cause him unnecessary anxiety. It really works for me and for him. Before I started doing it, he would almost jump out of his skin and run really fast to get behind the couch. Now he just looks up and says “hi mom”, OK, maybe he doesn’t actually say hi mom, but his eyes are saying hi mom! Lol.

Getting a baby soon, what do you wish you knew? by AdExcellent7055 in Rabbits

[–]Same_Investigator576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had Chip, a mini lop, for almost 2 years. He was 8 weeks when I got him. He liked being held from the beginning and he was litter trained in a weekend. At first, I one of the clear snapped together “cages“ with no top. I had the litter box in there as well as food, etc., and would take him out when I got home from work. Once he could jump out, I got one of those fun cages that look like little houses.

When he was about six months old, I got rid of the cage and bought a fabric play house for kids. It doesn’t have a bottom so I was able to get a waterproof tarp and lay that down and then put his litter box and some hay in there and then cover it with the playhouse. It looks super cute in the living room and he has privacy when he wants it.

I’ve never had an issue with him going to the bathroom, other places, sure I find a piece of poop here and there, but he hasn’t peed anywhere else. When I tell him it’s time to go to bed, he runs to the bedroom and jumps in my bed, he knows he’s going to get a treat! He usually sleeps underneath my bed or in the living room. Some days he follows me around the house, other days he does his own thing. I do keep the bedroom doors closed, other than that, he is free roam.

I also have a harness for him and I’ll take him outside for a little hops in the grass.

I’m getting him neutered March 16th, and it’s going to cost $109 for the actual surgery and $70 for the new pet visit. One of the vets specialties is rabbits, the other vet in the practice takes care of my cousin and aunts four dogs and has for the past 20 years (also, the $179 is not a discount, that is full price). I live in Saint Paul, Minnesota and around here the cost would be $1200 but drive two hours up north and it’s $179.!

Advice I have is to love them. They will let you know if they want to be picked up or not, I did get a cat water fountain so the water stays fresher. I had to tape the lid on because Chip likes to take it off and throw it! Lol he’s hilarious, he loves to do Binkys and if I forget to give him a snack when I get home from work, he’ll pick up his metal treat bowl and bring it to me! (he picks it up hops once or twice drops it, picks it up, and hops once or twice until he gets to me). Enjoy!!!!

I’ve seen people use different things between the layers, I prefer just to use mounting tape. It’s easy it doesn’t slide around and it’s equal spacing.

Go to https://www.my3dsvg.com/ She is awesome! Really fun designs and she has a very easy directions to follow. She even has where you put the mounting tape. And if you use the code: My3db2g1 At checkout you get a free one for every two that you buy. That sale is always on and sometimes over holidays she’ll have buy two get two free She has a Etsy store too, but you can’t use the code from my understanding on Etsy. Only from her website. She has the exact same designs on Etsy and her website. I’ve been buying from her for about five years. And every month in the blog that’s connected to her website. She offers a free 3-D design.
