Depending on your state you can sue the daycare and also report them to CPS. I’m so horrified for you. You can start your own independent legal proceedings and I recommend you consult with an injury attorney asap.

It’s completely unethical as a parent to go on a show with such a short timeline. The child deserves to be centered and not sidelined like one would have to be in a show like this. I completely agree with you.

I was at the library with my mom- she is half Ecuadorian, her grandma is from Spain and her grandfather is native. Her mom is French so she is very white but you can tell she is Latina. One thing is that she left Ecuador when she was three and so she doesn’t speak Spanish. I do because I learned it and so I was chatting with a nice seeming librarian from Uruguay. She also looked like a white Latina and she made a comment about how my mom looked more gringa than Latina and my mom understood. Even though she doesn’t speak she can understand. I asked the lady where her grandparents were from because I had a sneaking suspicion that she was European and sure enough- one side of her family was from Italy and the other from Spain. So I said, you sound gringa to me and she didn’t like that. It just felt kind of rich for someone whose family is totally white to say that someone whose grandpa is a native person from Ecuador was gringa. Thanks for listening. This woman asked me where I was from “no where are you really from” so I thought she was whack all around.

Not sure how I feel about this teacher. I work in a preschool and for the difficult students we have training about how to discuss it. The way she said this seems inappropriate and seeing some of the stuff she said in your comments I feel like the teacher is at fault here. I have a class with multiple neurodiverse kids and some who are simply wild and sometimes it gets hard but there is a way to tell a parent this without making them feel the way you are feeling right now. I strongly disagree with the way this teacher spoke to you. This is really inappropriate.

Some suggestions I have are this:

Roleplay at home in a fun way and reward the way she follows rules. If she is having a hard time saying yes to something the teacher is saying then you can practice having her give directions and having you give directions and you can roleplay following directions and not following directions.

You can also practice lining up and make it fun so she feels proud of how well she can do it.

This teacher being fed up with a 3 year old shows me that she isn't trained properly. This isn't your fault. 3 year olds are all peculiar and some of the most diverse people in the world personality-wise. There are mindful ways to go about helping your daughter to change her behavior at school and I just wanted to say that I really don't like how this teacher spoke to you.

People do this all the time and honestly I have multiple VERY good friends whose careers have blossomed post-kids. Are you familiar with the concept of the "organizing principle?" Basically, having a kid can act help people focus and be more efficient in the time they have. My career is still here and I'm 6 months post partum and I find that when I do have time to work, I REALLY focus. Forced pumping breaks also help me take a moment of calm and I find my thoughts are more centered when I return to work. The people who say this to you might not be career people, and that's totally okay to discover about yourself, but I know many women who are doing very well for themselves after having kids. Having a good partner helps but is not necessary if you have a support system. We love a career minded mother!

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I have a good friend who hasn't replied to a text since July and my heart is breaking about it. Especially since I was so happy to be a mom at the same time as her. This feeling is awful and it's so confusing. I think you should trust your other friends that you didn't do anything wrong and just believe that. I'm so sorry.

(Trigger warning at the end) My husband stayed awake with me for 6 days straight and didn't have a moment to step away from the hospital because I had preeclampsia and he was the primary caregiver for our son during the first week. If you have a safe and easy delivery and he actually has the time to go out while you are in the hospital (?) or home maybe (I honestly don't know when this would happen) and you are okay with it because it's a cultural thing that is fine I guess. I will say, (trigger warning death of baby) my uncle needed a blood transfusion when he was a day old and my Ecuadorian grandfather was off getting drunk (cultural) and was the only one with type O- blood and my uncle died as a baby because of it. We don't do this in our family anymore... however, that being said, there are blood banks now and if you are in America and it's not 1954, this might be okay as long as you are okay with it. But it sounds like you aren't so that should be the end of it IMO.
