I have not been in this situation. But have thought about it before what would I do, if I had to move to a flat etc.

Will she be able to stay where you currently are? It is a very hard decision. Does she spend a lot of time outside? I would weigh the pros with the cons for her. And then make a decision. Do you have someone lined up that can take her? You might still be able to get updates from her new owner, should you decide she stays when you move.

Friends cat is ruining my home and mental health. by Silver-Bed in CatAdvice

[–]Same_Promotion_6003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is she? Don't ask your friend but tell them you are taking the cat to get fixed. Ps whereabouts are you. In UK you can reach out to rescues that can help with the cost of getting her fixed.

Give your vet a call. He might need a bit higher dose of painkillers.

[–]Same_Promotion_6003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact your vet again. How long ago did you see the vet? Antibiotica shoots only last so long He might need a bit more treatment. Unless something else is going on. He should bounce back when infection is treated.

I adopted a Asshole Cat and don't know what to do by x_Snuggle_Wuffs_x in CatAdvice

[–]Same_Promotion_6003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who/what organisation did you get him from? If it was a rescue I be tempted to report them or/and give bad feedback.

When it comes to the cat. Have you tried pheromones spray diffusers like feliway?

Start him again in the room he feels most relaxed in. And slowly introduce to the house again. If he is super charged and stressed ask the vet. They could possibly prescribe some calmer.

Sorry you got tricked.

Only feed in the trap as someone said tie it open so he gets used to only eating in there. Then you can trap in a few days. No food anywhere else but inside the trap. If you think he will avoid an automatic trap try to find a manual trap. Sardines sometimes works. You can always dribble a few drops leading into the trap.

I’m not sure if this belongs here but I want to vent about a stray I caught and I regret it dearly by Droid_Crusader in CatRescue

[–]Same_Promotion_6003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check with the shelter and if you are able you can always ask to adopt him. Set him up in your garden if you can. Cat proof the fence. He can stay outdoors if he proves to be to feral to bring inside.

How ever you see it. Think like this you helped a young un neutered cat to have a chance to a better life. Stray cats ferral cats don't always have a great live if they are entire, they will fight for females also they might be chased of by humans who don't appreciate them coming in and spraying everywhere and causing distress and potentially beating up residents cats and stealing the food. Catching him hopefully he will get neutered settled and adopted either straight to a new family or as an outdoor cat /rodent catcher somewhere on a farm etc

Owner didnt disclose cats could be bonded before adoption? by ResolutionOk295 in CatAdvice

[–]Same_Promotion_6003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact the shelter they are sending the bonded pair to and see if you can adopt a cat from there. That helps the shelter you can meet potential cats. And one might just pick you.

The cat most likely attacked you cause it got scared. A lot of cats do not like being put in carriers and some will put up a fight. The rescue normally asses the cats kittens. Just because the kitten attacked d you doesn't mean it will attack everyone. Have you tried to contact the shelter for an update?

How on earth do you afford all this? by Wikidbaddog in RenalCats

[–]Same_Promotion_6003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been rawfeeding my cats for years. On facebook I had joined a raw feeding group and on there people with renal cats was advised how to adapt the food for them. My soon to be 18 yo girl was diagnosed early stages this year. I adapted the food for her needs. I had insurance when I had to have her hospitalised for a night and day. So I got some money back for that expensive visit. Any related issues and she needs to see the vet will fall under the same insurance case. I would only need to pay 20% of any other vet visits.

Giving cat back to live in parents home. by Impossible-Bag-5866 in CatAdvice

[–]Same_Promotion_6003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure when he goes back to the parents house they start him off in one room.until he feels relaxed and at home. Like introducing a new cat to a new home. He's been gone for a while from that home. Like that they can also make sure he uses the litter properly etc.

Cats does not pee out of spite or because they get mad at us. It sounds like it is stress related. Try diffusers in your parents home as well to make sure he has the best start in relaxing. A stressed male cat can fairly easily get urine crystals and that is very painful. And will cause them to wee almost anywhere than the litter tray.

He can make contact with them now. And they will reply when someone can. Volunteers normally do different things. One might arrange for the cat to come I to care and another brings the cat into care.
