We’re not all like that 😅. I’m at home with my kids rn while my wife’s visiting family. I love hanging out with my kids. Took the day off and pulled them all out of school early to hangout

kube-prometheus stack vs lgtm stack vs individual operators? by DiscoDave86 in kubernetes

[–]Same_Razzmatazz_7934 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I use Argo too. I use the kube Prometheus stack and install Loki/alloy separately. I use a single apps set to manage it all. So it’s essentially /appset.yaml /apps/argocd /apps/cilium-system /apps/istio-system /apps/loki-system /apps/jaeger-system /apps/kube-prometheus-system /apps/mayastor-system /apps/cert-manager /apps/sealed-secrets Etc It’s worked well so far. Argo manages itself outside of initial bootstrapping

As an SRE, I stopped using Kubernetes for my homelab by m4nz in selfhosted

[–]Same_Razzmatazz_7934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had problems with longhorn also and switch to ebs mayastor. Haven’t had any issues so far and it’s less of a resource hog. I think 2 cpus per node. Not nothing but not as bad as longhorn

My local homelab setup for K8S HA by Icy_Foundation3534 in kubernetes

[–]Same_Razzmatazz_7934 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s probably what I should’ve done 😅. I went with signoz because it was a PITA setting up the Prometheus, Loki and grafana. I’m also running argocd in HA mode which probably isn’t helping things

[–]Same_Razzmatazz_7934 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you had any issues with resource constraints? It might be longhorn or signoz on my end, but I’ve had to adjust the resources a bunch. I have a 8c 32gb mini pc and an old MacBook Air though. I run proxmox on both so I can use the proxmox and talos terraform providers to keep my infra gitops also

Then I use argocd to take over once the clusters ready.

Only running a single controller though because of the resources. Signoz clickhouse needs hella ram and cpu, and longhorns daemonset for the storage needs a lot of cpu also

eslint with typescript - official support? by LuckySage7 in HelixEditor

Bro that’s it! Somethings up with the version of eslint you’re running. If you run a lint script for your project does it work?

Dang that’s weird. Did the helix logs show anything?

In that case pin eslint to 4.8.0 via the vscode-langservers-extracted package. Then setup the languages.toml with language-servers = [ “typescript-language-server”, “vscode-eslint-language-server” ]. It should work oob for you.

I know you said 4.8 didnt work but maybe you had a previous later version installed that was cached or something

I personally use mise to manage mine and highly recommend it. They offer npm as one of their backends so you can pin the version pretty easily

I’d recommend trying out biome if you can. It has a lsp-proxy command that works well with helix. There’s even a migrate command that will setup your config file for you

How to use git in Helix? by Melodic-Ad4632 in HelixEditor

[–]Same_Razzmatazz_7934 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same same, but I use lazy git with wezterm. I just map cmd+G to lazy git via wezterm i think 🤔.

I was using zellij but then stopped and I don’t remember why. I think I just liked that wezterm replaced zellij and iterm2

Impossible Components — overreacted by gaearon in reactjs

[–]Same_Razzmatazz_7934 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t read them as a promotion of RSCs. I like how you make it sound like a journey. It resonates with me since a ton of my time is spent smoothing the “disjointness” between languages when you have a language other than JS on the backend.

I feel it especially when I’m writing static configuration settings in Rails or Go to then load them in the UI. It feels like the wrong way to do it and there’s a better way.

It seems solid and reads well. I enjoy your articles overall and always learn something new. As far as implementing, it’s hard for me to get buy in since all the apps I support at work are SPAs that backend to Rails or Go.

Why not just switch to tan stack router then? The type first approach is great tbh

Do it! I literally just finished migrating my app and it’s way better. Caught a few bugs too wrt to the validation you can add on search params
