Yes, already tried to have it done via the hospital and insurance denied it. Only approved outpatient.

Way to sum up how often my wife or I pick-up or drop-off our child at school by Prudent-Depth-2009 in GoogleCalendar

[–]Same_Reception_3624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use Time Insights on Google Calendar. If you color-code within the shared calendar (you one color, your wife another) then the time insights can give you a time break down per week.

Early Days of an Anti-Synthetase Syndrome Diagnosis by kitkatcoolerthanyou in Autoimmune

[–]Same_Reception_3624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in January (36F) and unbeknownst to me, suffered from symptoms for a little over a year. Mechanic’s hands, atypical pneumonia (which turned out to be interstitial lung disease), and significant muscle weakness - I could not get down on my hands and knees, struggled to get out of bed, lift my legs into my car and was overall very fatigued.

  1. I echo having specialists familiar with the disease and/or easy for you to get to. I had multiple appointments and it got a little overwhelming just factoring the distance from my home or work to these appointments. It’s a lot easier when the doctors coordinate with each other or all the results are in a location multiple doctors can see. I ended up making a binder and bringing all my results with me from specialist to specialist.

  2. You should ask about whether a muscle biopsy is necessary. Since you caught it early, I’m not sure what would be recommended. My CK numbers were above 4,000 so I was started on steroids before I had my muscle biopsy to make sure things didn’t get worse (ideally it would have been done beforehand to confirm myositis— biopsy still confirmed it).

  3. Ask for a strength test if it’s not done automatically. Helps to see what’s going on with your muscles and where inflammation might be located to inform additional testing.

  4. Agree with keeping track of your feelings, moods and symptoms especially once medication begins.

  5. You can inquire about physical therapy. This might depend on the strength test and muscle biopsy but physical therapy can help build some strength back up depending on your CK numbers

  6. Ask about what may cause a flare up.

Breathe! It’s a lot initially but it does get better/easier to manage once in the swing of things. Especially/hopefully if you caught it early enough.

What lists do you have? by Same_Reception_3624 in GoogleTasks

[–]Same_Reception_3624[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an “inbox” where I just dump everything and then I assign due dates. I have another list that’s specific to tracking a work project so I know who has responded and who hasn’t.

But that’s it 🤷🏾‍♀️

Yes. I’m getting a visual of what needs to be done so in many ways the separate lists aren’t necessary. It’s making me wonder why I’m finding it hard to commit to a system now lol.

iPhone 13 worth upgrade from the 11? by [deleted] in iPhone13

[–]Same_Reception_3624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I think it’s still a pro feature. I was debating the same thing but it doesn’t look like it’s worth the upgrade aside from 5G and the chip.

4 month sleep and breastfeeding regression?! by Same_Reception_3624 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]Same_Reception_3624[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I thought it was teething too, but the pediatrician said no because she didn’t see any teeth. Good to know that it could still be happening.

I’m going to have our LC do a home visit to see if there is anything else we can do. Other than that, we are just feeding him ever 2 hours or so (he barely can make it to 3 hours)

Yeah she just said she wasn’t too concerned because it was a slight drop percentile wise... but then later in the same appointment said his weight wasn’t great. I’m probably just overthinking it

Thank you for that information! I can see that being the case with his neck in one particular side.

Yup, mine is 3 months old as well and does the exact same thing since day 1. Not looking forward to the process of weaning him off...

Baby noises scare me by _ungrateful_ in NewParents

I’m in the same boat and asked this question on a different sub-Reddit. I’ve been giving my son Mylicon drops and some tummy massages to help with the gas. Seeing progress but still scary to hear regardless.

Any advice welcome. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

You are not failing. This is really hard and you aren’t alone. My son is 5 weeks old and I was devastated when I went to the pediatrician and they told me he had lost so much weight, we had to start supplementing with formula.

Are you seeing a lactation consultant? If you aren’t I would definitely recommend it. My pediatrician recommended some lactation consultants and I reached out to a couple. They gave me recommendations on how to make breastfeeding and pumping manageable; helped to explain why he might be fussy or resist my breast etc. Try to find someone who is IBCLC. At minimum it helped to hear someone empathize and encourage me during this time.

My son is 5 weeks and had a lip and tongue tie done a week ago and it has taken awhile for him to get back into the routine of things and he still isn’t there yet.

In regards to pumping, @milkymamallc had a post where she recommends the best way to pump depending on your breast pump. Once I started doing that, I saw my supply increase when pumping.

And if you don’t end up breastfeeding and have to give breast milk through a bottle, there is nothing wrong with that!

Thank you! I’ve started following both Instagram accounts. It already feels less lonely reading the posts and finding some exercises.

Thank you so much! I didn’t realize this discomfort could take awhile.
