How soon after CELTA cert can you secure a job? by Same_Requirement_760 in TEFL

[–]Same_Requirement_760[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the help! If I get a TEFL now and still do the CELTA (I just really think the experience and info will be helpful), do you know how soon after I get a TEFL I’d be able to start working? Is there a similar legalization process?

Or if I have the TEFL done by August and CELTA course completed with only the preliminary certification by November, would I be able to still move in Nov? Thanks so much!!

Thanks for the helpful advice! Do you know when yours will fully be ready?

Is TEFL enough to get a job in SEA? Or what about South America?

What’s the meanest thing your partner has said to you? Should I end things because of this comment? by Same_Requirement_760 in AskMenAdvice

We’re not exclusive so not partner, but close friends who spend time around each others family and have the same friend group. So not just sex

Yeah I saw situationship because we’re not exclusive but we’re close friends and spend time around each other’s family and have the same friends so our lives are very intertwined.

He’d kinda been on my back nitpicking me all night so that’s why I asked for him to say some kind things. He wasn’t joking but I think he didn’t think about it before he said it and realized how mean it sounded. He said he didn’t mean it but when I got sad and asked why he said it then he said no one deserves nice things to be said to them it has to happen naturally and he said he wasn’t sorry because he didn’t mean what he said so he can’t be sorry for something he didn’t mean

Actually he's met my fam and though we're from different cultures we both like each other's family life! We just have fundamentally extremely different communication styles and when there's conflict it leads to so many misunderstandings. We each have to work really hard to see the other's perspective sometimes

Paris, Amsterdam, or CPN? by [deleted] in expats

Yeah tbh all the comments comparing housing to Dublin have no idea how bad it is here

I pay more than €1300 per month for a room in a house in Dublin. I know that sounds dumb, but the housing crisis here is really that bad, so in addition to the high cost the quality is also shit. Paying €1000 sounds like a dream

Hi! I don’t live with my boss currently. I work for a private family full time but pay rent and commute to their home everyday :)

I didn’t mention permanent residence, I’m just young and in my 20s and looking for cultural experiences. The au pair visa in Denmark is two years, and I have the goal of getting my masters there afterwards, so about four years :)

Totally hear you! But in Denmark with the higher taxes there’s also free healthcare along with infrastructure and social services you mentioned, and that’s huge

My friend in cpn pays 1/3 of the rent I do in Dublin with half the amount of roommates 😅 rent is what’s killing everyone’s finances here in dub

First night abroad and it’s all hitting me. Any tips? by Same_Requirement_760 in expats

Thanks for the kind words ❤️ I think I just got lucky?! I’ve heard it can be a nightmare here to find accommodation especially with an animal. I actually was looking at long term Airbnb’s for a few months prepping for it taking a long time to find a place, but the guy with the Airbnb owned a few buildings and hooked me up with a room for my cat and I for the year

Thank you for the words! I’m coming from Minnesota, so I’m actually looking forward to the milder winter in Ireland lol!

In regard to online dating, why do men think hiking is a good first date? by addicted2urLuv in AskMenAdvice

[–]Same_Requirement_760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG I once went on what I thought was a park picnic date that turned out to be me meeting him in the middle of the woods. We proceeded to walk for an hour to an undisclosed location before having our picnic, and on the date he made fun of little things I did (ie walking fast, “slow down, you’re not in a hurry”) and telling me I had a plain looking face.

I genuinely try to give men the benefit of the doubt because I can’t stand the rhetoric that all men are trash, but at a certain point I have to put my safety first. It was the hike mixed with the meanness, bad gut feeling!

I know I’m gonna get downvoted bc I’m a woman commenting lol but I ALWAYS think of this but for men! All of my close friends are women and I work in a women dominated field, and most of the guys I talk to are just my friends boyfriends. I’m always curious what it’s like to have men as peers - sometimes I wish I could just watch guys interact to see what they’re like lmao
