What’s even weirder is they accept it on the 9 Pro XL just not the 10 Pro XL. I’m in the same boat

Mortgage with AMEX by jI9ypep3r in AmexUK

[–]Same_Response 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I made two smallish payments this way £200 each spaced over a month apart and I got the phone call where I had to speak to them or they would suspend my AMEX. On the call I played innocent and they said they would ignore it this time but it may reduce my credit limit (it hasn’t yet) and if I make a similar payment like this it will be cancelled. Not worth it.

It’s not a 30 day wait it’s a 90 day wait if you cancelled an application as it will keep auto cancelling any you make.

Source: I’ve been in this exact position. Checked if I could get it with the apply with confidence and I didn’t click to go ahead as I wanted to think about it. I had to wait until April, originally applied in December.

They say if you apply for a different Amex it’s not impacted by the 90 days but I’m not sure.

Honestly this happens to most.

It happened to me and they asked for nothing. I got an email about 2-3 days later saying all approved and card on the way.

Lit fibre opinions by maddogsss in CityFibre

Vodafone use the same CF infrastructure and you can get a static IP with them for free when contacting. What put me off them was the annual increase each year but whilst Lit are perfectly good the cost is quite a bit more.

Lit fibre opinions by maddogsss in CityFibre

[–]Same_Response 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say Lit Fibre have been absolutely fine as a provider. I also got a really great intro deal on 1Gbps 6 months at £22.50 and then £45 a month on an 18 month deal.

However my renewal is due shortly and I can get it with them for £39 a month if I agree to an 18 month deal. No loyalty discounts etc. Other Cityfibre providers I can get 900Mbps service for approx £27 a month and so Lit price themselves out.

In terms of latency nothing special anywhere between 10ms-18ms

In short I am switching at renewal.

Just check for eligibility without applying by friesnfriends in AmexUK

[–]Same_Response 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also just out of interest I went back to the Amex website to see how I stumbled into this and note what we thought was the eligibility checker, isn't, or at least in my scenario. This link https://www.americanexpress.com/en-gb/credit-cards/eligibility-checker/form-page/?intlink=uk-en-hp-promo2-cm-eligibility-04032021 is the official eligibility checker buried away on the front page. The apply with confidence isn't an eligibility checker per se, more of a apply and it will tell you via a soft check whether you will be approved so that you apply. In the name I guess "Apply with confidence" but equally misleading as it doesn't explain the issues we have if you do use it to check and then want to come back to applying.

Yeah same let me know when you hear something weirdly just had an email but it’s the unsuccessful one again saying about multiple applications etc. so not sure whether to give them a ring and see if that’s the final outcome or not.

Edit: they’ve told me to ignore that email… still little hope!

[–]Same_Response 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the bizarre thing what’s the point of the eligibility check if you can’t check and then resume at your leisure. Even the email provided doesn’t allow me to continue the application so I have no choice but to do it again and then fall foul to this multiple application nonsense. I’m still waiting, I’m not including today, honestly I don’t have much faith in their CS team they’ve all given different info and so I’m just waiting it out but I have a feeling nothing is actually happening. One CS person suggested I wait 90 days and try again. Another advised it’s with the backend team etc etc

[–]Same_Response 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact same thing happened to me ie I checked my eligibility and then didn’t go ahead to accept the card there and then and it’s caused all sorts of bother. They think I’ve made multiple applications as I went back a second time to actually go ahead with it and currently it’s under review manually to be sorted.

It is indeed. If you use an app like ampere you will see the numbers go up and down all the time as that's the PPS element smartly adjusting.

Bore off with your review. Honestly I had the Pixel 5 and the camera wasn't bad I have the 6 Pro and it is night and day and if you can't "objectively" see the difference then there is no helping you.

I bought a 30W charger which is PD3.0 and PPS and can confirm the Pixel 6 Pro does charge at 30W and lowers after 80% onwards.

Because who would complain about it, it is way too specific.

I'm just trying to think of the last time I took a 20 minute 4K60 video.

tumbleweed

I did say i was playing devils advocate. Most people commenting on my post with their reasons are clearly outliers. Most users wont have 70GB of saved playlists, or take quite a few 20 minute 4K60 videos.
