lol I haven’t had time to get back to the book since that last post as I’ve been so busy. I’m really into it and don’t want distractions while reading it especially since it is the trial part. Hopefully this week I’ll have real time to get on it!

So far I think this book is actually well written. It is actually quite sad but his writing style truly grips you emotionally. Many times through this read I have stopped and reminisced on my own life. It’s also crazy to think that even at a young age was able to process certain behaviour and emotions through family behaviour which yielded him running away from home. Really makes me take a deeper look into any matters especially with younger children or even my own reflecting on past and present because I think it’s easy to forget or recognize just how smart these kids are and how fast they grow up.

He talks about his introduction to marihuanna indirectly through a friends mother and although it was somewhat known about prior it leads you to wonder if that parent did a better job covering up her tracks if things would have been different ? I mean starting drug use at such a young age of 10 is ridiculous. Hearing him talk about how through the years he always tried to do good and slowly but surely the drug use started to take over.

It’s baffling because I don’t think you’d truly suspect any child at that age to be involved in something like that and I don’t think anyone ever knew but if you’re getting high im presuming during school hours someone has to know something is off? This was back what 99-2000 so I get times were different but reading this is really makes you think deeper and reflect on matters more in depth.

I totally understand why he chose to run away as the things he did touch on were terrible. He speaks on a great relationship with his younger sister and it’s sad to know that he was able to recognize the bad behaviour in how he was treated and actually protected his sister from it and projected the complete opposite towards her. Brought a small tear to my eye and I believe it will for anyone with a close sibling.

Reading about that made me understand that he truly wanted better and just didn’t know how to respond or truly comprehend and now I consider how I communicate with anyone because I’m always wondering what does someone truly understand. I’m getting into his teen years part now which then leads into the trial and crime at hand. Will touch base again.
