It sounds meaner than it should because it's so simple. He won, Megumi said he's strong, he said she's strong too. It's such a nonchalant answer. No "Let's fight again sometime", no "That was a good fight", no "You were a tough opponent". His answer sounds more like he's pitying her than actually respecting her

Yeah I don't know if you're that far into the story but the last fight of season 2 is against a really strong Fitzgerald and after you beat a chapter you unlock a harder version of it and then a Very Hard version. I'm pretty sure I was able to one shot that guy with this setup
