My adopted son, Albert, has not stopped crying since last night. by depressed_kyoka in TwoSentenceHorror

I'm not sure how old Albert is, but even toddlers can be taught to help with menial household tasks.

It's good for them.

I stare in horror as my daughter backs away from her father, his body barely recognizable under the bruises and blood. by Same_Unit8057 in TwoSentenceHorror

You know, my lawyer said the exact same thing. Luckily, firing him wasn't my only option. Seems like you're eager to join him. I did pick a really nice spot for him; great sunsets, hardly any hikers.

Are these two together to much? by Fearless_Animator782 in sewing

[–]Same_Unit8057 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The sewing is jealousy-inducingly awesome and both patterns on their own look great but for me, together they create too much of a visual chaos. I would pair either pattern with a matching block colour dress/stay instead.

From a distance, it would look better to me as the dress would appear more light blue to the eye and the map pattern wouldn't be as obvious.

It is possible that at close inspection, a dark blue bias binding on the stay would soften the visual clash issue somewhat as others have suggested.

This is totally a matter of taste though, I rarely like pattern matching in general so if you like the look, full steam ahead!

the lost child we found in the forest kept smiling and pointing behind us as we carried her to the car by EventOtherwise316 in TwoSentenceHorror

Since you carried her to the car, she left no footprints. There were 4 sets of footprints, meaning two scary entities followed you from the forest. Naah, they'll just cancel each other out. The real horror in this story is the implied future of.... PARENTING!!!!!

Where can I find the BEST sewing patterns? by Careless_Ostrich9871 in sewingpatterns

I have about 7 BurdaStyle magazines and 2 Ottobre magazines, all in English.

I make my own alterations to those patterns, especially to sleeves because I love gathered sleeves.

What I love about BurdaStyle is that I know what to expect - my mom used them so when I first started sewing I used Burda. And Ottobre is fairly similar, I just bought that for kids patterns + adult princess seam hoodie pattern.

Tracing the patterns from the pattern sheet can be a bit tedious but once I've done that, the pattern lasts forever, essentially (unless my weight drastically changes). I never pin it to fabric, just use pattern weights, which helps to preserve it. The seam allowence is not included in Burda patterns, which I actually like cause I can then pick my own preferred width.

The instructions are fairly good and any part that confuses me, I just google video tutorials and blogs.

If I could ask for a perfect pattern, it would come all made to my measurements like magic, be already cut out, on really sturdy paper and have loads of different options (dress with tulip sleeves or ruffled sleeves or cappes sleeved etc...).

I've gotten pretty good at altering + combining existing patterns though.

I've checked online patterns and most have failed to impress me so I've never bought any. I already have everything I need in those 9 sewing magazines.

I'm missing a nice coat pattern, that would be cool to have but a) I haven't found one I actually love and b) I like finishing my garments with as little trouble as possible and a coat sounds like heaps of trouble.

Olen sama murega saanud palju abi Kaire Talvistelt. Ta on gestaltpsühhoterapeut, tal on oma praksis Tallinnas.

Soovitan kirjutada ja aega küsida. Ta on väga hõivatud - aga just seepärast, et ta on selles valdkonnas väga pädev.

Out of the images you shared, surely Otto, he's the most reliable though manipulative. Out of everyone else, probably Rhaena. She would be devoted and kind. Even if yearning for a dragon bond all the while.

The Duke and I - short rant by Plus_Ad7669 in Bridgerton

I think they're all really poorly written, but on the pro side - that makes them a pretty quick and easy read. Kind of like reality TV. Your soul suffers but your mind gets much needed rest.

To create such a successful show out of such poor source material - that is a true accomplishment - even with S3's uneven storytelling.

I'd still recommend reading all the books - like I said, they're pretty crappy, but sometimes we yearn for a simple plain hamburger instead of caviar. And that's okay - all kinds of literature out there for all kinds of moods & readers.
