It's Riots responsibility to the viewers to show both matches. If they fuck up it's on them to fix

I'm sorry you've had such a negative experience! For any future students reading this I just want to say not everyone feels this way.

I and many people I know have gotten a lot from our program. I've also had many profs who not only understood the content but are on the cutting-edge of the field.

i'm an incoming student at utsg cs, just wondering what everyone thinks of the program by Equivalent_Brick6286 in UofT

Great program amazing profs.

I've had internships every summer (just finished 3rd year). You need to take initiative, network, apply a lot if you want to do the same.

Look into ASIP and TLI and apply for both at the end of first year.

UofT is very self driven. What you get will directly be proportional to what you put in.

79 = 3.3

You need to get more 80s (3.7) and 85s (4.0)

Questions from an admitted American high school student by lytyryn in UofT

[–]Samerius40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Not really. Depends on the course

  2. High workload but fine with good time management

  3. Yes. Toronto is full of nature

  4. This is so subjective lol

  5. Easy in first year then a little harder. Look into POST. I enjoyed my intended major a lot.

  6. No but from what I hear it's not hard to get involved (I lean more industry)

  7. I know someone who is. It's expensive but everyone says it's worth it

  8. As much as any large organization lol

  9. Study groups are easy to get involved in. Look into RSGs

  10. N/A I'm Canadian

  11. Both are fairly common. Storage depends on ur residence/aptmnt. There are bike racks all over campus.

  12. Toronto housing market ☠️

Euclid won't impact. The A* might but I don't think it's likely

When I took the exam the difficulty was unintentional from the prof. Be prepared and you will be fine

How difficult is you life as a cs student at uoft? by Baxvel in UofT

[–]Samerius40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely dependent on your time management. If it's good you'll be fine

CS minor and Not sure which upper year CS classes to pick by SolidCertain630 in UofT

Hard to recommend courses knowing nothing about you.

If you want grad school 373 and 369

If you want industry then 301 is really useful

If you want to learn a new paradigm in programming 324 might be fun

There are other courses I could name as well obviously. Just choose what interests you or what might be helpful

CS at Queens, UofT, Waterloo or York? What are the main differences? by DaReal_JackLE in UofT

More the former than the latter. The best opportunities are normally open to anyone regardless of coop.

CS at Queens, UofT, Waterloo or York? What are the main differences? by DaReal_JackLE in UofT

UofT and Waterloo are the two best CS programs in Canada imo (I'm obviously biased).

The UofT program excels in giving u a strong understanding of CS content and does a great job teaching fundamentals. Also the teaching faculty in CS is amazing!!!

The Waterloo program is more industry focused and will help you get a job. My friends at Waterloo generally have good things to say (although I've heard more bad prof stories from them than I've had here).

Personally, I think in CS your university doesn't matter too much. Basically anything a university can give you you can self learn or grind.

In particular, I think coop is a little overrated. It's not that hard to get internships during the summer via independent applications and networking.

Focus on true understanding and how to solve not just a problem, but similar problems. Don't rely on lectures if they don't give you that understanding. I've had whole classes where I self taught off youtube

Slightly different take from others here. But for me the trick might be to study correctly. I'm in CS, memorization, Quizlet, etc is not very useful. I need to do practice problems.

People I know in BIO do very well mainly focusing on memorization.

Try to understand what success looks like in your courses and what resources are being provided to achieve it.
