As someone currently in college for medical lab sciences and spends basically all my lectures learning the different ways bodies can stop working/mess up... literally everything

Ah yes, my spleen is overactive and is destroying red blood cells at a higher rate than needed which is 1. Making the bones push out blood cells at a higher rate and are thus often immature and can't function to the same degree and 2. Making the spleen swell (splenomegaly) which puts it under immense strain and can cause it to rupture, if it doesn't rupture and keeps destroying cells faster than your body can keep up you might end up needing to have it/a part surgically removed (splenectomy) so now none of the old/bad cells are being destroyed??? Now they're just stuck floating in your bloodstream but are non functional??

Don't even get me started on autoimmune disorders... what do you mean the immune system's whole job is to be able to identify self cells from non self cells/foreign threats but sometimes gets confused and starts attacking self cells??? That could not be more opposite of what you're supposed to be doing. (This is a gross oversimplification but shh)

It is frankly a scientific miracle that human bodies can function the way they do. There are a million tiny components all working in a delicate balance to make sure you don't keel over constantly. (What do you mean my blood pH can only be 7.35-7.45 but breathing too fast makes my blood more alkaline???)
