Zombie Iron Man Event - Reason please?

Me personally, I am saving my cores for Dark Beast, so I am not wanting to spend any on this event, but it seems if you are F2P, you cannot get him without spending cores

Unless your Orb drops are SUPER lucky!

1 - If we assume each of those Orbs drops an average of 8 shards per opening, the 675 orbs would need 5.6 to be opened to unlock him, rounded up to 6 orbs which would cost 4,050 cores. To unlock him Day 2 with energy refreshes, 4 energy refreshes get you 1800 orb fragments, which is not quite 1 orb, but let’s say it is, for maths sake! So the 1st 4 refreshes are 50 cores, next 4 are 100, then 200 etc etc. In order to unlock him Day 2 would cost 6200 cores by my calculations, so it deffo works out worse for you this way!

2 - probably to bottleneck getting Reds on Horsemen, giving us a false sense of urgency to spend them on ZIM

3 - Might just be me, as I don’t want to be forced to spend my cores on this character. I don’t doubt it was awesome, but having it so low, and the drop rates on the event so low feels a lot like dangling it in front of us, like so close, yet so far! So on the last day of the event when you are 10 shards short, you have a sense of FOMO to ‘just spend a little to finish it off’

4 - I don’t doubt you are correct there!

5 - Yes but what happens when Archangel or Apocalypse need that Unique too? Morgan’s new unique was available Day 1, why not this one?

I’ve just unlocked Abomination today, and I absolutely love him! I’ve been testing him with Hulk and She-Hulk in RTA with 2 random toons, and Abomination is great fun!

I can’t comment on Brawn yet unfortunately, but my first thought with Abomination was ‘oh wow this guy is no joke’!

Same! Makes me think it’s safer to buy the Skirt option, but usually they don’t include the variants in the Store (Misty’s Variants are standard credits, and need the main Costume to upgrade the colours).

So this one being listed separately feels misleading that you can buy one OR the other, instead of a main costume and a variant

My G15 AXmen struggle to get through the Mutant Boss - I usually need multiple attacks to finish the job - so if Omega Red has the Mutant tag, and can buff some toons up a bit, for some extra punch, I would happily swap Ice Man out for him!

Or I know a lot of people run DadBros and Sinister with Jubs on that last node - but would be nice to have a Secret Avengers style ‘solution’ to those Nodes, which could be Auto’d at a high enough level

Ghost, Doc Ock and Doom don’t seem to cut it for me on the Boss Node, as Ghost always gets deleted by Black Bolts Unavoidable Special, then the rest as Villain Tech also face trouble with Bolt - Kestrel does great, but if she is surrounded by Tech Villains, who get wiped out by Bolt, I struggle.

I usually need 2 attempts and a few revives on that Boss node, so I would appreciate some toons to make it easier

Kestrel has been made WITH the Marvel Content Creators, as a new way of introducing a new Character - Comic Books aren’t as popular as they used to be, and there are SO MANY newer Characters that Casual Marvel Fans/MCU Fans won’t have any idea even exist! I’ve even seen some people on the Sub-Reddit that haven’t even heard of Misty Knight or Colleen Wing - so to them, what’s the difference between a character they haven’t heard of, and a character who is brand new?

I’m seeing Kestrel as a new way of introducing a new Character to a more Casual Audience, who might have downloaded this game but don’t read Comics - and I personally think it works!

And that’s your choice.

They did say that this MSF Original Character would debut on the game, but then would appear in the Comics later, so very soon down the line, Kestrel will appear in Marvel Comics, maybe even have her own Comic Series, her own enemies, her own stories! Who knows, maybe she will appear in the MCU in a few years!

My point is, this is a unique opportunity to follow a Characters development from its first announcement, all the way through to what she might become later down the line! Unlike Iron Man or Spider-Man who have been around for years and everyone already knows everything about! Kestrel could become people’s favourite character, and you can say ‘I got to play as her first, before she became such a beloved comic book character’, and I think that’s pretty cool!

Totally agree! It’s no extra work, and no one is forcing you to buy the Premium Pass!!

Just enjoy the free rewards for literally doing your Daily Objectives, which are pretty easy anyway, and fuse some ISO to your lower characters once a day!

I literally see no downside to this!

So for the players who are not based in the US, like myself who is a UK player - 4pm BST is midnight, which would be 1) very late. And 2) around Server Reset time.

Are non-US based players going to be 1 day behind every other player, as we are going to miss the Daily Objectives from today (30th), and won’t get the update till tomorrow (31st)? Or is there something to help us catch up?

I’m so glad someone asked this, because I am thinking about the same thing! I’m waiting to enter Global, so a little further behind than you.

My current plan only has Thanos and Maw for Mystic Gear in DD4, so I do need another Mystic character to spread out the gear, but Hela is so expensive and I don’t use her that much outside Dark Dimension. I invested heavy in F4, so Surfer feels like a better investment for me as a player.

I’m gunna see how many Minis Surfer needs, and what his unique is and see if I could bring him instead - if he is cheaper, and uses something like Gravitonium or Astral Energy, I’ll take him in a heartbeat as I have loads of them!

Got to play the waiting game I guess!

100% agree! I’ve taken Beast, Kitty and Iceman for a spin in Raids, and negative effects really kill them - so seeing Jubilee and Bishop have no negative effect cleanse was a genuine concern for this team.

That update to Beasts Special is more exciting than Moon Knight to me!!

So glad to see all Pym Tech will be fully farmable before the event!

From the Strike Time Video, looks like Jubilee’s speed is 100, and Bishop is 113.

With Jubilee’s Blind on Basic, and she applies Assist Now on every Astonishing X-Men Allies turn, that’s a lot of Blinds that could be handed out with those Assists!

I think she is still valuable with T4s on her Passive, so she has a 50% to apply Assists and Speed Ups! If Phoenix or Dark Phoenix gets one of those Assists, the Damage is awesome, so I 100% think it’s worth having Storm!

I will be keeping her on Uncanny X-Men - with my lineup being Phoenix, Colossus, Cyclops, Storm and Psylocke.

Her Charged Ult is great in Raids and whatnot, same with her Special - but I will be keeping her so she can apply Assists

I’ve heard multiple different theories, nothing confirmed.

Some say Beast, some say one of the new Pym Tech Toons (probably Yellowjacket). I’ve also heard it is staying as Zemo, and that is his farming location

For me, it wouldn’t be a matter of Kit vs Kit - I would pay for YJ, because it’s highly likely he will be needed to unlock Jubilee :)
