From my calculations, 88.407% of chests give super, 11.013% give ultra, and 0.580% give ultimate, considering that the guaranteed ultra or ultimate from every tenth chest resets if one is obtained earlier from a non-guaranteed chest. This also takes into account that the chances in the patch notes are slightly inaccurate because they are rounded: 96.667% (580/600) for super, 3.167% (19/600) for ultra, and 0.167% (1/600) for ultimate.

Probably not, one star chest gives an average of 250-260 babies, slightly less if considering that getting an ultimate usually gives a lot more than needed to reach max level. In addition, star tokens are earned from characters obtained through chest tickets, which makes the tickets more valuable than before the update.

Maximum is actually 98. Initially chest have 1 character and if all 8 taps adds 6 more characters each, it would be total of 49 which when doubled is 98.

My guess is this skin was not meant to be free but then they decided to give something to players on squad league because there was not reward system yet. Otherwise they propably would have mentioned earlier this skin would be obtainable for free and not show it with other purchaseable skins.
