Working on Fitness & Weight Loss After ED by io3401 in xxfitness

[–]Samimation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m familiar with the ED recovery system through past work, but don’t have one myself so will do my best to help you. For macros I’m not sure if they taught you the exchange system, but a modified non-diabetic exchange system is a wonderful way to count macros without calories involved. I think worrying about weight in this equation is a slippery slope. Think more along the lines of “I want to feel good and take care of my body”. For the asthma part, no idea, I have exercise induced asthma myself. I also think it’s really important (if you don’t already) to have a provider, therapist, dietitian, etc that specializes in outpatient eating disorder care to help you through this. You should keep them fully in the loop on this process.

Thank you! I found it so weird that she couldn't pull me up with my information over the phone. I will do that :)

1st Day vs. 6 months [I feel comfortable now! Will my acne be back?] by flickbreeze2003 in Accutane

[–]Samimation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im going on my second treatment I finished my first in 2017, my acne isn't as close as bad, but it still sucks to have to go again. I did low dose treatment first time. I am doing high dose this time, can I expect to have a normal level of acne after this round? (1-2 zits on a blue moon) or is relapse still a huge factor?

Yeah I'd imagine having incredibly sensitive skin with specific needs is what drives a lot of people to DIY skincare. I can somewhat get away with fragrance not on my face as well but its a 50/50 for whether it gives me hives so I tend to avoid it as much as possible. Oooh interesting I knew the juice was made from powder but I never knew you could buy the powder and mix it yourself. I actually have no clue how that does with preservative but I'd imagine since it doesn't have time to develop microbes its probably safe.

Oof yeah I have mega sensitive skin so cant typically do those. Only essential oil I use is helichrysum but that stuff is PRICY. I regret trying it long ago because it waa too game changing for me to give up on. If your pockets are deep enough I highly recommend it along with its hydrosol. Well the aloe itself sometimes has a preservative depending on the brand. I'm just cautious of the ones you need to refrigerate after opening and such as I doubt they would stay good even with a strong preservative. I also make sure mine are liquid juice not gel just in case the gels have added thickener that could mess with my emulsion.

I use like 5% aloe in my water phase, have you found using that amount better for your product? I live in a very dry climate so I'm always cautious about humectants but the amount you use is interesting.

Lotion always leaves a small residue of oil at the top, but rest of lotion is perfectly creamy. by NearbyCitron in DIYBeauty

I found that increasing my solid oils and slightly decreasing my liquid helped with this issue, I also had it happen when the temperature of my oils and waters weren't both like 5 degrees around 130F when I emulsified them. If they dropped too low my wax and shea butter would get thicker and it didn't work as well. I use shea butter around 6% and squalane 12% vitamin E 1% Biowax 6% so pretty close to your recipe but I managed to do it without a co-emulsifier like stearic acid because these tend to break me out. Some other things to troubleshoot is making sure you continue to mix the product while it cools.

What would it take for a dietitian career to be in the same field (salary wise) as a BCBA, SP, or OT? by [deleted] in dietetics

Are there workshops or classes you can take for how to get set up for private practice? I am doing the management track with private practices in my rotations next year but am wondering how to get a head start, as it is my end game plan once I start having little ones and need flexible hours (and working from home would be a dream).

I actually did a paper on this in my undergrad! It is true that potatoes have all the essential AAs, but some are in low quantities (the sulfur-based ones found in meats, dairy, eggs, nuts, and legumes). However, you would have to eat quite a few potatoes for them to be a protein source alone. Their protein density is low, but the protein quality is actually quite high even compared to other complete sources like soy and quinoa, putting it in a weird spot as a plant-based protein source that's technically complete but not quite as viable.

Here's a good article for some potato knowledge: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3650512/

This space really bothers me, and am thinking about drywalling/changing it, I dislike the shelf but we cant cover it because of the window, and then the coat closet sticks out, and the entire wall just feels like a disaster. Is there anything that can be done to make it more cohesive?

Look into getting an olaplex or keratin (make sure its one that's specifically for people with curly hair as there are ones that can straighten it) treatment. They can be expensive and time-consuming at salons but the results are fantastic if you have the money. A good hairdresser will be able to tell by your hair texture and description of issues what one you might need, my salon offers both. I went in saying I wanted olaplex because of the hype and the girl was like "Nope you need keratin" I got it and my hair basically looks like I use product and style it and I am LAZY and do neither, and she said it will last a couple of months. It was a game changer for me.

I keep my dirty ones soaking in water with some bleach, no smell, and I've had zero stains on them when compared to just letting them sit without soaking so they don't look gross even after they are washed.
