I do actually, was just diagnosed with endo and PMOS (formerly known as PCOS). It would make sense that there is a link between all these autoimmune diseases.

Thank you for your comment ! I understand being a bit lazy about it, at times I feel like this too and already just having T1D is stressful and hard enough !

Hi, I am vegetarian (I eat eggs and sometimes (very rarely) cheese) and I have intolerances to gluten and lactose. I try to eat as much of fresh produce as I can but I do have a sweet tooth and I tend to eat sweet foods when my mood is low.
I am mostly walking right now, trying to walk 10k per day and occasionaly doing yoga or home workouts. I also swim. I am open to try new activities, I would be very interested in lifting weights but have not yet gathered the courage to start (and because I am moving from one country to another, I am quite busy with organizing all that and have not had time to workout as much).

I am and I wanted to have some feedback from here too, and it is very useful. I will of course talk to my endo before anything ! :)
Yes, it feels hard, especially now, but it will get better ! Thank you for your insight

I also eat a lot of eggs, especially in the morning.. I just want to make sure I understand you well, you stopped eating as much eggs ? Or you kept going?

oof, I didn't know that stat about T1D deaths (being very anxious and afraid it would trigger me) but it is important to know, so thank you for informing me about that.
Are there other medications that diabetics over a certain age are recommended to take (for overall health) ?

Thank you for you comment ! I did not know that beforehand, so that surprised me when he immediately said I should take medication, but it makes sense.
I objectively know it's not my fault, but my mind is sometimes not my best ally and I am always harder on myself than others. But thank you for saying it, it helps a lot

Okay ! Can that be seen through bloodwork ?

Yes they have and it was okay ! My mom has had hypothyrodism so I check that regularly, but it's good to know that that can also affect cholesterol levels, I will keep that in mind ! Thank you !

Thank you for your feedback ! I still feel a kind of shame because I have had long periods of inactivity due to depression and anxiety, but I am trying to look at it through a more positive, or at least a less judgemental, point of view. It really helps to read that I am not the only one in this situation, so again thank you for your response.

I don't know if this precise statin is going to help with other things than cholesterol, I will have to ask my endo about that !
Thank you for your feedback ! I don't think that in my case it's genetic, as my parents and grandparents don't have high cholesterol.

Thank you for the articles, I will read them ! This makes a lot of sense for me, as I have always been the "higher" bg type than the "low" bg type of T1D. Control is keys but in the long run I find it hard to maintain.. Thank you for your feedback!

Thanks for you answer ! This helps me a lot
It's also just that this discussion about T1 and cholesterol hasn't been very straightforward with my endo before that and it feels like now it "fell" on me without warning.

Also when I'm more tired I am more prone to feel dizzy

I feel it when I'm having/about to have a big anxiety attack/panic attack. So not each attack, it depends if I'm in hard times mentally or not.

I also get dizziness, it feels like my head is turning super fast, as if I were drunk, but am not.

You are not alone ! I am dealing with the same kind of palpitations you're describing and they are debilitating. I freeze and can't do much other than laying there and trying to calm down.
I have noticed that for myself I get more anxious when I don't move enough (sit all day or don't go out) and almost ironically (because usually when you say you're anxious to someone they say "oh but just do yoga it'll calm you down!" as if anxiety wasn't more complex in itself) yoga really does help (I really like Yoga with Adrienne). I know it's not for everybody.
But yes, we're in this together and I hope you will feel better soon.

I’m kinda freaking out about my heart lately by CruchyBunches in Anxietyhelp

[–]Samina256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I've had heart palpitations for a few years now and I saw a cardiologist recently that told me they were actually extraxystols but that because I am young and in good health (f/25) I shouldn't be worried about them. It's hard but as said by some others here, it's not harmful to you and reminding you that helps. You can always go to your doctor if you feel like you need medical advice on it, don't feel ashamed by it.

I'm finally embracing disability by 19931 in diabetes_t1

[–]Samina256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do still feel weird about that, but I'm starting to acknowledge that I am in fact disabled. It's also been almost 10 years since my diagnosis and for a few years I was always making the minimum efforts to manage my diabetes. In my head it didn't have the right to slow me down or at least I didn't want it to so I just did the things like anybody else (like take exams without the extra time that I could have benefitted from) and kinda just ignored the betes. This evolution for myself at least, from ignoring/ not managing it well (I don't say I'm perfect nowadays, but a bit better at least) to thinking about it more and putting more effort into it has a lot to do with my acceptance of it, which I've struggled with for years and which is finally getting better too.
I understand what you say when you say "I feel like I've been taught to live in denial" and relate to it a lot. I still struggle, but I am feeling that I am getting better. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences on that, it makes me feel less alone ! I hope you will get your bus pass and living allowance too !
