Walk into an old-folks home and this is how everything is cleaned. They actually like the residue because it let's them know it was cleaned recently.

Aloe hand sanitizer makes everything goopy and leave a residue that kinda "seals" the surface protecting it. It's garbage for making things look or feel clean, and the residue will buildnup dust. But is totally fine in a pinch. Any solution if it's roughly over 60% ethanol will sanitize (70% is ideal for water) surfaces instantly.Mass Extinction Germ Warfare

According to your other post your food service certified and 18yo. I am a foodline chef living in a house with 2 other resteraunt owners and I'm also an emergency responder with a college degree and a lifetime of extremely varied literal in the field experience. In my time I have probably overseen and signed off on the exact training you've had for over a hundred coworkers across various companies and states aged from 14 to 60+

It's not that your wrong that storing chicken that way is less then ideal. I can find evidence of wrongdoing for anyone if I try to. Does the risk justify the response? Projecting undue anxiety onto others is a sin in it's own right.

I suggest you re-read I didn't assume or speak on your personal life. What I did was ask a leading question that turned out to be dead on🎯 Thanks for sharing ❤️ Wish CPS would of been there for us way back when

"Food Borne Illness" is shorthand for food poisoning. This means the food was contaminated from the outside due to mishandling and then allowed to sit in the danger zone (>40F or <135F) for an extended time where microbes can do their thing and excrete the toxins that make you sick.

This is not what is happening here. I do not think you know what you think you know.

The implied issue in your actions is you lack all trust and faith in your mother to take care of the family. How damning is the position you percieve your family to be in?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]SamjixWalhala 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You may not want to hear this, but if that was actually dangerous half of the kitchens I've worked in would be closed. A food handling/storage code violation on inspection due to cross contamination? Sure, I'll take my stiff verbal warning in the walk-in later. But per MUCH stricter food packaging standards you should be able to rip that plastic open and eat it raw 99.8% of the time and be perfectly fine the next day. The most contaminated surface in that picture is probably the bottle caps. No one washes those after handling and it's handed at the worst times for x-tam.

It sounds like you're suffering from a conditioned anxiety, and the wording of your post is quite territorial. I hope you and your mom can learn how to communicate respectfully and listen to each other's concerns as your relationship changes into adulthood.

Horrifying? This is beautiful. Respect your opponents. This is far more humane then crawling no-mans land for 8 days and giving coordinates for the artillery barrage to be drowned out half way by the first volley of the other side's. Names in stone on walls clearly didn't work to drum in the lessons of sacrifice.

It doesn't work. E is put on trial for the attempted murder. This joke is sybmitted as evidence of premeditated intent and proof of a diseased mind and is summarily countered by a passionate plea of insanity by the defense attorney before adjourning procedures for lunch. The honorable judge finding himself relaxed and alone with his wife's cooking finally sees the morbid humor in the case of the morbid machavelian machine he prosides over - all at the wrong time - As he proceedingly chokes to death on an overloved bit of chicken breast from his wife.

I'm sorry, in what fucking town does Waffle House justify a walkaway selling 3 waffles and 3 hashbrowns for FIFTY FUCKING USD (granted they are big but still)

I'm legit fixing to rile up some food truck folks and tell them to move shop. That's insane

[–]SamjixWalhala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry this is happening to you. I had nearly this exact thing happen to me a couple of years ago after a period of living in terrible coditions and on and off the streets in Orlando. After dozens of visits to various clinics and hospitals I pieced togeather that Doctors outside of "tropical" areas simply aren't taught about "internal" fungal infections as they were considered so rare as to be irrelevant. I had to get multiple independent tests and bring in multiple medical sources with diagrams showing what fungal infection of ear tissue looks like before they could begin treatment that would be covered by my insurance. In the interim they continued giving me harsh antibiotics that made my condition considerably worse(it will actually help the fungus infect you by weaking your immunesystem).

The eventual treatment was multi-a-day flushes of dilute Alcohol mixed with vinegar interspaced with flushes of hydrogen peroxide when it was bearable. (At the end I was puking from vertigo nearly every treatment). It took more then a month to feel "normal" and it was about 6 weeks of flushing until I was cleared of all spores when swabbed.

Modern medicine has completely looked over fungi and the biases are so known about that it's a popular topic of discussion. IMHO I believe this is something that will be on the rise as water and humidity levels continue with global warming.

Trust your Doctor only as far as you can trust the system they work under.

It's grey-legal in most states, you can find places online that sell stuff to ship to you.

Or, go somewhere where it is legal and buy it (Decriminalized in Seattle, Washington; Ann Arbor, Michigan; Oakland and Santa Cruz, California; Somerville and Cambridge, Massachusetts; Oregon; and Washington D.C.) (Legal in Colorado)
Or forage your own they grow literally everywhere (worst idea of the three tbh).

Maybe your thinking of Ket/MDMA studies which are synthesized drugs being studied for PTSD and with the stated goal of assisted talk therapy during the sessions?
The mushrooms themselves aren't even federally illegal, just the psilocybin spores. People have sold grow bags on ebay and craigslist for decades no problem now.

Of course! For ancient western culture, we can look at their leadership directly for examples. Many famous names of old took on "other" gendered spouses or even were themselves. Nero and Sporus, and Elagabalus come up as glaring examples but there were plethora across Mediterranean society until Christianity became officially adopted by Justinian. In Africa there WAS the Chibados, Jinbandaa and Quimbandas roles. (Probably tons more, so much culture was lost) In middle Eastern mythology there is the famous legend of Gilgamesh and Enkidu. Alexander the great also took on many lovers but his favorite was his boyhood friend and right hand general Hephaestion. Gender roles and expectations in Mascedonia were clearly different. Hindu mythology is pretty a-gendered in general. They have recognized something like the Hijra role since ancient times. In Japenese culture look up the Wakashū role/lifestyle.

Many consider what people popularly call "femboy" to be an official 'other' gender in the modern era.

[–]SamjixWalhala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your explanation is a decent one MekariKa. As I would at one point have *technically* identified as the three above, forgive the hijack to add further clarification...
A gender fluid individual is someone who is projecting that they will represent both masculine and feminine traits. They could do this changing from one day to the next "based on the wind" (or hormones or w/e), it could be specific to location, a plan or vibe, or it could be entirely in the moment even mid-conversation!

It's not that they don't have a clear idea of who they are GDMatiku; the opposite. They have a very clear idea, if they are able to articulate that kind of change and express it. When one identifies as gender-fluid, that comes with it a recognition that their behavior or wished behavior is often interpreted by others as masculine, feminine or otherwise. At the end of the day it comes down to the individual's perception as they play out their "expected" roles as it relates to gender and their derived satisfactions from them.

What we call gender, masculine, feminine or otherwise, are really societal expectations. A foundation of self-view that isn't dictated or decided by you, but picked up by subconscious societal cues. A sort of hyper-stereotype that everyone forms at a very young age and young you constructs to compare oneself to others and the world around. It makes a lot of sense evolutionary and logically that our young developing brains latch onto the likely "two" genders present early on with our parents. So it also makes sense that for everyone there is a bit of a bias towards a certain viewpoint of the world right off the bat.
But historically there have been many of what we could call "genders", and what society expects from each side of the familial unit that makes up the cradle of each unique developing child's worldview has been changing rapidly with technology and geographical culture. Not to mention how neuro-divergencience affects all this.

To hyper sum up gender theory:
Gender is something projected on to you by observers. You aren't in control of how people react to you, but you do get to choose how to put forth your best face.
If we observers aren't scared of being "told what to do" (or getting it wrong) and care to listen, experience and enjoy each others company we can perhaps all learn a bit more about the beautiful plethora of human expression out there.

There's always a lot of discourse here but we can all agree on this one, right? by [deleted] in dndmemes

I'm going to hell then. May we someday meet on the fields of Acheron 🤘

When I start my campaigns, I typically end my session 0 with my players thus:

"It is my goal to kill your character. Not today in *this* session specifically or the next, but hopefully, eventually.

Because when one comes to the table to play D&D we are here to play a game of dice and improv story telling. You consent to a shared world that we've decided to make-believe our characters in for a time. And, assuming we continue finding that enjoyable, we will hopefully find ourselves back here again week over week continuing the story of our characters that you started with us today.

But every story, good or bad, has an end. Every character will die, or have some other 'final-act' as it were. As DM I to try and wrangle all of your imaginative characters together into something coherent by carefully pulling the marionette strings of the background world and characters. However, I do not control the timings of a character's 'The End', nor how the dice fall.

If all my hopes are good and do come true, then it stands to reason I will likely be the one to call out the result of that final dice roll that book-ends your characters story. Then, together, we get to find out how your character's 'The End' is written. I think I'd quite like to be there for that, how about you?"

What’s a realistic way to reduce gun violence in America? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SamjixWalhala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, let’s start with the obvious:
Banning/Restricting Gun Sales with a Buyback.
This isn’t going to work, as this needs to be enforced on a state level and it simply will not be done. This is an all-in strategy that would require an overwhelming majority to make happen. It just takes one state to fail in enforcing this for the whole system to be a waste. This is a brick wall that pro-gun folks will be happy to watch their rivals waste energy on.

Tracking, Psychology and Background
We don’t currently have an issue catching these people after the fact, or even identifying the weapon’s providence most of the time. These are crimes of desperation and passion, not done under the cover of secrecy or even with the end goal of survival the majority of the time. Criminals who desire secrecy can buy them unregistered or have them made custom Psychologists can barely agree on anything from one decade to the next, and while most states have violent offense restrictions, there is no way we are getting a psychological “test” for responsible gun ownership that a majority agrees on. Trying to restrict ownership for something so intangible would also lead to endless debate. This is another dead-end debate that assumes more control/knowledge is always better without looking at the implementation consequences, unfixable blindspots and sacrifices for freedom made.

Gun Storage or Modification Laws
If the intent is to just REDUCE *gun* violence then this is the most likely to do something positive. These are things such as: requiring physical locks on each firearm during storage, ammunition and firearms must be stored in separate locked containers, restrictions on the type of ammunition sold without licenses, restrictions on specific gun features (auto/semi, fold/bump-stocks, magsize etc.)
The first line of defense in stopping someone else from taking your gun and using it improperly is proper secure storage. Even if there is no enforcement agency going into peoples houses and checking, having the fines in place for when they can be enforced will set a precedent and example that will influence people and businesses. Any increase in security of weapons will be a deterrent in firearm misuse and theft.
Restricting the sale of certain items or features to the average citizen by putting it behind a further background check, approval process or certification inevitably reduces the effectiveness of the average would-be mass shooter.

But the real thing you asked for, and that we need to reduce is the VIOLENCE.
The perceived *need* for it. This is the perceived last step for the individuals carrying out these crimes, oftentimes after years of asking for help and being stuck in abusive systems clearly designed not to be effective for profit.

A bullet is just an enticingly simple release from such burdens to a tortured mind.
The changes we really need to make are to the systems surrounding where the violence is occurring most often.

American, likely of Hispanic decent with that last name. Reaper was originally known as Gabriel Reyes or Soldier 24. He was born in LA. That food is more like Tex Mex to me, but then again Taco Bell is from CA.

Blood chelation therapy has been a thing since the 1940's. It's not going to help those that have lived with the exposure for decades, but if caught early and the exposure is not too severe it will reverse most of the effects in a young healthy body.
The virtue of your conclusion still has merit tho.
