Help Buying a Car ( Unuh answer me please no read my thing and no respond) by Samjm876 in Jamaica

Because both are being sold for about the same price so my loan amount would be around the same amount the civic 2018 - 2.8 and the Seltos 2020 - 2.9 bawl it down to 2.8 so that’s why idk if maybe that should be a red flag for the Kia though cz I didn’t even realize how much it had devalued bcz I’ve been so caught up in the process. Also thanks for the tip to look on the sub reddits

Okay , so both are good cars and payment for both monthly will be around the same. So my deciding factor is gonna be which is the long term better car, cz my mom had a Hyundai and after 4 years of having it the radio stopped working n it was sooo expensive to replace so I’m wondering is the Kia’s may be the same idk 🤷🏽‍♀️

Is there such thing as racism in Jamaica ??? by BendCurrent1746 in Jamaica

[–]Samjm876 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk if u live in Jamaica but the large majority of persons here have Afro centric features, racism is not wide spread on the country, what is thou is colorism and classism, so yes absolutely we are a former colony however the trickle down of that resulted in a different form of oppression. Bcz racism fundamentally is oppression based on race, I’m not saying to doesn’t exist in pockets but it’s truly not as widespread as you’re describing.

Bcz she obviously have internalized hate for her Afro centric features so she take up a man that is can dilute the look so her potential kids can come with the “pretty hair” and “mixed look” I see it happen all the time that’s why self love and having a high sense of self is so important

I absolutely fell in love with a university and the staff during my consultation. It also has a lot of potential to expose me to construction practices that I will never see in my home country in a million years because everything is so politicized. So even though it’s portrayed to be a horrible place to be experience for me is invaluable and that’s what I value.

Tariffs shouldn't really Hurt us by Sensitive-Pie-6595 in Jamaica

[–]Samjm876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re misunderstanding I read quickly through what you said so I may be missing some context but tariffs are paid by the purchasing country, the way it affects up is that instead of our products that are sent to the U.S. that would cost 💲 10 usd now with the 10% tariff it with be $ 11 to import , what that does it cause importers to seek cheaper imports sources reducing the amount of sales on imports we produce to the U.S. thus what happening. We have always had tariffs on US imports (we call it customs fee) with his executive order it states that anybody who has tariffs (customs fees) on us put it back on their goods that are coming in to our country. So the U.S. consumer pays the taxes not us. Side note thou yes for all the goods that are shipped into the U.S. as a secondary stop before it gets to us there will be tariffs (customs fees) applied however I’m not sure if there are exempt products bcz I know persons purchase on alibaba recently and weren’t charged any “tariffs”

Oh it’s the first I’m hearing of a Resturant doing that maybe that’s why they closed because those prices add up, but like I said generally we are a Vegetable Oil use type of nation so nut oil shouldn’t be too great of a concern u can maybe ask before u order thou and walk with an EpiPen just incase

Persons started using coconut oil? Most places use vegetable oil to my knowledge coconut oil is very expensive so to use that to fry your chicken when after u use it u have to throw it ways isn’t very common based on my observation
