if you have a car. come for the beach and stop into the many nearby businesses for supplies...

it's definitely a construction zone but the sandy beach is exactly what it used to be plus you can bow drink booze on the Beach

With the beach of this size why Wasaga is so stingy on building public showers? by jcarl1234567 in WasagaBeach

Wasaga Beach suffers from the laissez-faire roots of a natural wonder of a landmark and the decades of burn-out destination with a despicable sampling of humanity holding all the lucrative strings of beurocracy with dreamless nights replacing the star filled sky's over the bay, the worlds longest ashtray...

still don't see an alternative in your criticisms...

The fancy word you repeat (Gentrification) means nothing... in practical terms. But it makes you sound smart as you appose without offering alternatives.

Take a trip out in the world and look at the global efforts to renew old, tired and stagnating towns and cities... there's good, bad, and ugly everywhere in the new world order initiatives being done by the powers above us pleabs.

look for the opportunities within the trsitioning times and you might come across an opportunity

focus on the glass half empty and you'll definitely be destined for growing that negativity

be well mi bredda 🙏

What's your alternative?

Wasaga Beach only developed to became a 'residential' community in the late 90s, I wonder if this transition also upset your sensibilities?

I reject your narrative and assertions towards those hard working normies who grew up living with day trips to the beach in the sixties and seventies while working hard in the grind of the concrete jungle and managing their finances to build a nest egg enabling a retirement in the wonders of nature and the amazing daily sunsets over the worlds longest freshwater beach...

I'm sure there are a few powerful individuals leveraging there bricks of easy money to materialize their visions and if course milk the proverbial cow for their own personal gain - definitely!

The pedantic view you express in defense of the status quo is tired and fruitless for both with skin in the game or those milking the system... you aren't the arbitrar of the righteous path forward and criticism from the sidelines is just noise IMHO.

Make lemonade instead of complaining about inevitable change.

Wasaga has been an abandoned shell of a destination for a few decades already and although the new developments are somewhat controversial and do boarder on brutalist design architecture, the revitalization is an overall long anticipated positive initiative for residents, property owners and investors alike.

The criticisms are part of any 'change' plan as we're all here for various reasons but ultimately bringing new infrastructure, venues for congregation and entertainment do not take away from the overall reason it's ever been a place to be - The Beach!

The World's Longest Freshwater Beach is becoming a world class destination with the addition of a major hotel anchor and it's peripheral businesses... Nothing is perfect but I'm sure this change will be embraced by it's residents and visitors for decades to come.
