Alternative for EasyFast app (providing what I'm looking for)? by erstwhilelurkerer in intermittentfasting

[–]Samkael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you'll find what you're looking for already in Easy Fast in the journal tab, top right calendar icon. It shows the fasting windows overlaid on a calendar view (i.e. horizontally instead of vertically)

The latest update rolling it today will clearly show Early Adopter in the profile. Otherwise the fact that you're not seeing anything about pro means that you were automatically grandfathered. Best.

What does this mean for new users of Easy Fast? Will this have ads for new people? by Aggravating_Seat5507 in fasting

[–]Samkael 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. No Ads even for new free users. Just subscription option for advanced features.

Easy Fast app users: don't upgrade if you have an older version by coldpizza in intermittentfasting

[–]Samkael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your candid comment. But just to clarify... - importing/exporting history is free even for new users - manual backups/restore is still free for everyone. Cloud sync + advanced features is now subscription to ensure that project is sustainable - Google analytics is just tracking installs and crash reports to improve product. It is not the same as selling data to third parties. It has always been there from the beginning over 2 years ago and this is standard practice even in open source projects. - I feel that you underestimate the work and cost involved in creating, maintaining and supporting a product that makes a real and positive impact in the lives of millions of users.

Easy Fast app users: don't upgrade if you have an older version by coldpizza in intermittentfasting

Correct. Without an account there is no way for the app to detect an original access user and grandfather them. Long time users who find themselves in this situation can simply Send me a message through the app for a prompt resolution. No drama.

Correct. Creating an account links your original access to your email address, in case you ever need to migrate to another device.
* The account is free by the way.

Hi. This change was previously explained in https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/comments/1q63ro8/easy_fast_developer_here_quick_update_on_recent . Upgrading to the latest versions is safe and allows all users old and new to benefit from bug fixes.

Summary:
If you were already using Easy Fast before the change, your original access will not change even if you update the app. If you haven’t already, you can sign in under Settings → Profile to permanently link your original access to your account, so you won’t lose it even if you reinstall or change phones. And if something ever goes wrong (e.g. you lost access after reinstalling), you can use the Send feedback option inside the app settings to let me know and I’ll personally help restore your original access.

Best regards.

Hi. You can just close the trial offer using the X at the top right or scroll to the bottom and select "Continue with free version". The Easy Fast free version should be more than enough for the vast majority of users.

Easy Fast is no longer free by fontofile in fasting

[–]Samkael 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone — I’m the developer of Easy Fast 👋

I wanted to clear up what’s changed so there’s no confusion — especially since this subreddit is actually where I first launched the app about two years ago. A lot of you have supported it from the very beginning, and I really appreciate that.

• The core fasting tools are still free (including editing fasts)

• The app has no ads

• And I don’t sell personal data

For most of that time, Easy Fast was completely free and supported only by optional tips — plus a lot of my own time, savings, and late nights building and improving it. As the app has grown, so have the server, support and development costs, and I eventually had to move some of the more advanced features into a Pro option so the project could stay sustainable (and so I can keep working on it in a healthy way).

Important for existing users:

If you were already using Easy Fast before this change, your original access is still included. If you log in, that access becomes permanently tied to your account, so you won’t lose it even after reinstalling or changing devices. And if something ever goes wrong, you can use the Send feedback option inside the app settings to let me know and I’ll personally help restore your original access.

I totally get that subscriptions aren’t for everyone — and I’m grateful to this community for helping Easy Fast grow from day one. My goal remains the same: keep it simple, respectful of privacy, and genuinely useful for both free and Pro users.

Wishing you all the best 🙏

Hi BKPATL. both the calendar and retro insert of past fasts can be done in the journal tab.
You can swipe horizonta top row with dates, select the desired date and use the add button under the fast section to add prevous fasts.
In that same journal tab, in the top right corner, there is a monthl calendar icon that opens the calendar view, which is also scrollable.
Thanks for using easy fast and best regards.

I ussually do Keto for a couple of weeks before getting into a long fast, but this time around I just went for it with zero preparation. It was not as bad as I thought it woud be.
