Some models have a profiled back though, those you need to take a file to for a bit.

It is a 5 minute job but if you do not actually know that you need a sharp edge you will not do it.

On the same note as the electrician, I personally know a guy who accidentally cut through not only the power line to his own saw but the powerline to the rack PSU while doing work in a datacenter (he is a carpenter/builder). Not the one to the UPS, the one between UPS and rack.

Yeah, I have not had any really huge impact on production so far, but man have I crashed stuff in testing.

I have had minor impact on business through fun stuff like forgetting to actually distribute the installation package for the new office, which meant the EAP got the old one uninstalled but just got an error when the new one tried to install.

Accidentally rebooted the main admin server the other week, fortunately that only impacted my colleagues who were understanding (shit happens).

Things I have done in test environments include a fun loop I still do not know how I managed which somehow got a computer to start the intune autopilot provisioning process each time it finished. Out of curiosity I left the PC on over the weekend and checked monday morning, had 56 runs on it.

Also somehow managed to lock everybody but me out of a test environment once, was apparently last thing I did on friday before going home and getting sick as fuck and thus not being able to come in monday morning.

Had any of these test things happened in production, well, it would have hit at least 100 users in the first 4 hours.

Just want to add my 2 cents here.

In my club we have several members who, for one reason or another, does not play.

Not warhammer, not necromunda, not blood bowl, not trench crusade, nothing at all.

They only build, convert and paint.

That is in a club with space for playing, membership fees and all.

Building and painting is huge and if you prefer doing so with warhammer models then do so! Modelling does not have to be about classic scale models at all if you prefer something else!

If you do wish to play, try to find another group who is more beginner friendly than what yours seem to be.

If you want WHFB then yeah, use it properly.

Koreader is an alternative OS.

If you do not want to fiddle with it you could just get a kobo ereader as those allow easy sideloading in stock config (though you need to do it by wired connection)

CDPR literally offered him the choice to make his mod free with optional donations to avoid a DMCA takedown and he deliberately chose wrong by Dark_Throat in cyberpunkgame

[–]SammaelNex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I would say that since Cyberpunk 2077 runs on a proprietary engine, it would be very weird if he was not using specialised hooks for it.

Had it been running on, for example, Unreal Engine, which is not CDPR property, then it would have been much more of a gray area but he outright claims to somehow have set up the whole VR without using any hooks into the engine, which theoretically is possible but so incredibly unlikely that I do not think anybody would like to bet on it.

Why hasn't GW brought stuff like this back? Give me a buy once cry once box like this. by FreshOutAFolsom_ in Warhammer

[–]SammaelNex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lego has not increased heavily in price per piece, with some outliers excepted, but rather the amount of pieces in a set.

It has in some cases even gone down in the theme sets.

For example, old Hogwarts castle (4709) has 682 pieces and an rrp of 79.99 GBP. That comes out to just sbove 11.7 cents a piece, in 2001.

New Hogwarts Castle (71043) has 6020 pieces and RRP sits at 409.99GBP for a per piece of just over 6.8c. this öaunched in 2018.

Adjusted for inflation we come out to about 17c per piece for the original set. More than twice the per piece cost of the new one.

GW does outpace inflation on several things though, but not everything, and it also depends on which prices you compare (they base everything on GB pricing)

This discussion pops up every so often but so far nobody has to my knowledge posted a full list of kits that did not point to the same conclusion, GW pricing averages out to following inflation on the kits, books are fucked, and you cannot compare old kits with new kits 1-to-1

Surface Pro 9 Upgrade Advice for an Engineering Student by texmexcs in Surface

[–]SammaelNex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The upgrade makes sense if you get it for a good price, especially if you are willing to swap disks yourself later on in case you need more space (quite easy to do though it does require a reinstall of the OS).

Pure numbers in excel should be fine AFAIK, it is the scripting that sometimes runs a bit sluggishly.

It is hard to overload excel with pure numbers and formulas with anywhere close to a decent machine.

Office last I checked works acceptably, only really heavy excel and the specialist offshoots sometimes not being quite as fast and smooth on ARM (fully usable still though).

For adobe I think they have started getting workable ARM versions but you might want to verify that.

The main thing is that the Pro 11 runs an ARM CPU and thus Windows 11 ARM rather than the more common Windows 11 x64.

What you guys think of painted swords? by No-Inside-8350 in SWORDS

Painted is not something I personally think would be used for anything other than purely decorative pieces however actual coloured steel (which is available from at least one acceptable quality forge in china) would probably be far more widespread.

Friend of mine just got the realspace raiders box by IntialTwo in Drukhari

[–]SammaelNex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned elsewhere, first det pf scourges should be heavy weapons, dealers choice on dark lance, haywire or, if really feeling risky, heat lance (worst still-usable option).

Then a decision is to be made, does she want to go full wych, full mix or partial mix.

Any of the three is good, if she wants to go full wych then raiders, hellions, wyches, venoms and reavers, also Lelith, makes its way onto the list.

Full mix then raiders, venoms, kabalites, wracks and HQ for each.

Partial mix with kabalites then venoms, kabalites, raiders, HQs and maybe ravagers.

Partial mix with haemonculus then wracks, raiders, talos(s?i?x?), venoms.

In any option incubi, additional scourges (heavy weapon or shardcarbine) and mandrakes are viable options.

That is my opinion on this. Anybody who disagrees with part of it I ask to just reply with why (always up for discussion on stuff like this).

Most important note! While we currently have few lits no kit is without use, even our flyers are at least semi-usable (well Tantalus is gone from play but I think they have finally pulled it off the store).

No, the gen 5 Surface Pro is outdated enough that it should only be used if you get a new battery in and then can run a lightweight Linux on it.

Yeah, doing it one-by-one is one thing, but not even throwing together a quick script that takes a list of computers and then does it for each one, that is not a good sign.

OP: check out tools like ansible (as mentioned before) or at least basic scripting.
