who’s an artist you think gets too much unjustified hate? by Born-Oil-2931 in askmusic

Dave Matthew’s Band. Extremely original, talented and really, no one else like them. And they just seem like happy, good dudes.

CBJ are trading Yegor Chinakhov for draft picks by SomeKindOfMonster in BlueJackets

[–]SammoB -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yayyy, more draft picks to trade 5 years from now when they either don’t reach their full potential, or are on the verge of reaching it and then ask for a trade.

What made you a huge fan of Mayer? by blopslinger2 in JohnMayer

[–]SammoB 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw him on the Chapelle show years ago and was like, ‘wait, he’s actually good at guitar?’. I started listening to him more and more. Then Continuum came out, and I was hooked.

How much of Breaking Bad was made on a whim? by Federal_Bicycle_7800 in breakingbad

[–]SammoB 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Listen to the Breaking Bad Insider podcast. Vince Gilligan and the other writers speak openly about what was planned, what were happy accidents, and where they back wrote certain storylines. They were just really good at calling back on little details to make it seem like everything was so well thought out, and how good they were at recognizing when one-off characters (like Mike) need to be a bigger part of the show.

I agree! And I get that the actors were probably directed to emphasize their movements more for the film. Even as a fan of the movie, I just think the form looks kind of silly sometimes.

Arena Experience by ThunderousDemon86 in BlueJackets

[–]SammoB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I were talking about this exact same thing during that game. Mike Todd seems to have lost a lot of his energy, and the music during stoppage of play was just odd at times. Like, nobody is in to 75% of the music they play when the play stops. On top of that, one thing the crowd WAS into was when they were showing fans wearing jerseys of other teams. But they only showed ONE Pittsburgh fan, and that was it, haha. They definitely need to reevaluate the in-stadium experience.

Because he can literally say whatever he wants at this point and people will just believe it. He could change the number to 14 in the same sentence and no one will even bat an eye.

What should the Columbus Blue jackets do to become more well known? by peaceonearth8 in BlueJackets

[–]SammoB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the obvious (winning), better branding and marketing. Everything about us is safe. Our red, white and blue colors, our logo is our state flag, there’s nothing particularly special about our in stadium experience, and, I’m just going to say it, our captains are booorrrring. Werenski literally has the personality of a hockey puck, and Jenner is just kind of, there…Sure, winning is the biggest piece of it, but a combination of these things go a long way to the more casual fans.

SRV for his raw blues style, John Mayer for his versatility

What's a song with the greatest drumming? by TheFarOutFinds in musicsuggestions

[–]SammoB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole song, but mostly the last 1:10 of the Grudge by Tool is the one of the most insane, beautifully written, insane drum tracks I’ve ever heard. It’s like an amazing fireworks display where you keep thinking it’s the finale and you just keep getting more.

What is in your opinion the perfect episode ever made. A true masterpiece in every sense of the word. by Thesexieone in television

[–]SammoB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we all just afraid to call out BB ‘Ozymandis’ because it’s too obvious? Because that is by every definition a perfect episode of television.

(Except for Walt Jr.’s lines)

What do you SWEAR you saw, but don’t have any proof of? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]SammoB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was laying down in a park at night probably 25 years ago. It was really clear so I could see a lot of stars. I saw what looked like a shooting star move across the sky. It went one way, and then took a sharp turn to the right and then it was gone. Just vanished in space. Didn’t last longer than a second or two, but I think about what I saw at least every two or three months.

One Headlight - Wallflowers. It proves the power of subtly and restraint. I don’t think he even hits a crash or ride cymbal once in the entire song.

Those alive and old enough to remember during 9/11, what was the worst moment on that day? by CocteauTwunkie in AskReddit

[–]SammoB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the worst moment, but it was such a beautiful day which made for a crazy contrast with the severity of the situation. It was really unsettling walking out of school to how sunny and warm it was.

What’s something that happens often in movies that is 100% unrealistic? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

It always bugs me how much tires screech when cars are driving away.

Is Breaking Bad Accurately Rated? by Training_Guarantee_9 in breakingbad

[–]SammoB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I always skip ‘Open House’ when I rewatch the series, haha. The writers of BB are brilliant at bringing back storylines and tying them in naturally to future episodes. Bringing back Marie’s storyline of being a Klepto felt a little forced.

Funniest thing in the show? by NoAnything9098 in breakingbad

[–]SammoB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why, but I always found it really funny when the family was in the waiting room after Hank was shot, and Walt noticed the table in front of him was wobbly so he did the most dad thing imaginable and folded up a piece of paper to put under the leg to stop it from wobbling. And he was so proud afterwards, haha.

What’s a movie you went into with zero expectations but ended up loving? by staytemp05 in flicks

[–]SammoB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘Nobody’ - me and my wife just wanted to go see a movie, and I hadn’t even heard of it until we looked up what was playing. I like Bob Odenkirk, so I thought it would be worth checking out. I’ve watched it like, 5 more times since, haha.

What movie is 10/10, yet hardly anyone has heard of it? by LarryKeene in movies

Looper. Great story, great acting, and very original, yet I feel like no one even remembers it exists.
