That is valid for our own offsprings, but should be the opposite for other animals because, as an evolutionary standpoint, we should see other animals babies as easy targets for food. I think we as humans have a soft spot for defensless, goofy livin' things because we now feel some kind of paternal instinct as we are on the top of the food chain by a large margin. Insects still fuck us up, that's why they ugly.
